And so, the week passed, their routine established again.
Herbal tea in the morning, a smile to greet each other, exact payment exchanged.
But on one Saturday, Yamato-san arrived, dressed casually, alone. He shook his head when Iruka went to ring up his order.
“Ah, I was wondering,” he began, blushing, “whether you might share breakfast with me instead?”
Iruka blinked.
“Breakfast?” He asked, blushing too.
Yamato-san nodded, a hand fidgeting at his side. “Yes, breakfast. And maybe lunch? A dinner too one day?”
Iruka smiled shyly. “I’d like that Yamato-san.”
The man smiled back. “Yeah, I like that too.”
