Chapter Text
Yoosung woke up confused at first as he didn't remember going to sleep, but soon settled down when he remembered what happened yesterday. He jumped at the sound of his phone's alarm as it played loudly throughout the apartment, telling Yoosung it was time for school. He debated in his head whether he should go or not. Honestly, after what happened yesterday, he didn't feel like going. Yoosung pushed himself off the couch and sluggishly walked to his room. Collapsing down on his bed, he grabbed a small plushie that laid by him and held it close to him. It was a tiny dog plush that resembled Sally, Rika's old dog that sadly passed away.
Yoosung knew that he should talk to someone, he didn't feel like himself after Rika passed away. He wasn't the same bright and doe-eyed kid anymore. He no longer was that intelligent and happy person he once was. Now, he was just a pathetic loser who couldn't even save the one person he cared about. He knew if Rika were still alive that she'd be disappointed in him. He knew she would be upset that he was no longer trying to get good grades. "Rika" He said as he cried softly into the plushie.
——Seven's House—
Something was not right. Seven knew it somewhere deep in his mind that something was utterly wrong with Yoosung. He understood that the person he cared for had just died, but he was worried for his friend. He didn't experience a loss like Yoosung had, but he understands depression and the vulture that it is. How it breaks you down and makes you feel like nothing. He also knew Yoosung didn't know how to overcome it. He needed to help his friend. "It's decided then." He said as he spun around on his chair and quickly got up. He grabbed the keys to his car and left.
—-Jumin's Office—-
Jumin sighed as he was given another giant stack of files. "Jaehee, can you check the schedule for when the next meeting is?"
Jaehee nodded and walked over to the calendar "Of course sir." She carefully examined the calendar and went back to the desk after finding what she was looking for. "You have a meeting today at Three o'clock sir."
"Great, just when I thought I had some free time to play with Elizabeth." He sighed leaning back into his seat. He looked up and noticed his assistant shifting nervously. "What's wrong Jaehee?"
"If I may sir, I'm really worried for Yoosung. He just lost the most important person in his life. I'm worried he might not be handling it well." She said fidgeting with a pen.
He stared at her for moment, processing what he was hearing. "It's life, I was really close to her and I am able to go back to work. He needs to move on"
"Sir!" Exclaimed Jaehee. "You don't actually believe that do you?"
Jumin sighed as he got up from his chair. "Jaehee, get the driver ready. We're gonna take a trip to Yoosung's house."
—-Yoosung’s House—-
Yoosung cried for what felt like hours. His heart ached with intense grief as he replays memories of Rika in his head. He clutched his hand on his shirt where his heart is.
“Rika. Please forgive me. I hope you are safe and happy in heaven…..if there is one.” He cried out as he clenched his shirt harder with each sob. He stopped sobbing loudly when he heard the sound of his doorbell echoing through his apartment.
“Is it seven again?” Yoosung questioned as he slowly got up out of his bed. He made his way to his door and slowly opened it.
“Jumin?? Jaehee??” He exclaimed. “What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be working?”
“Yes we should, but we just wanted to check up on you. After everything that has happened” Jaehee said quietly as Jumin nodded in agreement.
“O-oh uh thanks but I’m fine, really!” Yoosung said as he wiped the tears from his eyes.
Jaehee was not convinced. She could already tell by his red and puffy eyes that he had been crying for some time. Her heart ached at the thought of how upset he must be.
“Well that’s good. We just wanted to make sure you were alright.” Jumin said in his monotones voice.
Jaehee snapped her attention to him and glared for a second before coughing into her hand. “Well Yoosung, why don’t you come have lunch with us? You need to get out of your apartment every once and a while.”
“I’m good. Thank you though. I need to go now.” Yoosung said as he quickly shut the door. Yoosung leaned his head against the door as he heard the hesitant steps of his friends walking away. Were they even his friends? They were just people he knew from Rika’s organization. “Rika…” he said as tears streamed down his face. He didn’t even think he had tears left to cry, turns out he was wrong.
Yoosung turned his back to the door and slowly slid down it. He curled into the fetal position and clenched his legs tightly. He wish this was all a dream. He wish he could go back in time and save her. What was the use of continuing on when the one person he cared about in the world passed on. He couldn’t imagine life without her, and yet he was living it.
