To: Vanguard High Command
I have not apprised you of my research lately and Sagira has been nagging me to send in what I have discovered. I left for Phobos a couple of days ago to look into if there is any correlation between Mars once having the sole gateway to the Black Garden and our recent scouting expeditions on the Glykon. (I am aware you will reprimand me for doing this without authorization later, but it would do to keep it to yourselves. We have more pressing matters at hand than protocol.)
I created a data collector that uses multiple energy readings, from radio to the more abstract, and planted it on Phobos. Sagira and I skimmed over it and what we found was... disturbing. The spatial distortion from the Black Garden from when the Heart still beat and the Anomalies are more similar than not. Additionally, I do not think it is a coincidence that the Glykon's internal structure is constantly shifting. I believe it to be a form of spatial distortion, caused by their flight through the anomaly. That it ended up in the Reef? I do not know what that means yet.
Additionally, while I was there I witnessed leftover stragglers from the Taken War self-mutilate themselves, presenting their own hearts before the anomaly, before they died. I still do not know what this means, I intend to look into it more once I am recovered from my outing.
I will also be requesting a skilled fireteam to accompany me. Ones with strong Light and who are not so easily tempted by Darkness. It would be best to keep this from the Young Wolf and Crow. They tend to be... too protective of me, at times, and I need people who are focused on the mission above anything else.
I have attached the readings we collected below.
We will have to act against the Darkness eventually, do not let this conflict with the Cabal distract you from the real threat for too long.
