"MARIUS, ARE YOU POSITIVE YOU ADDED SUGAR?"

THE PRESIDENT OF Pax Group glanced up from his phone, his screen displaying a vanilla cake recipe that the two of you were attempting to follow. Around the marble kitchen, bowls and utensils were scattered about. The disarray present opposed the pristine alabaster of the room.

"I believe so?" He gestured to the cup of  granulated white crystals placed upon the counter beside him. "Is this not sugar?"

You stared at the cup solemnly before striding over to taste it. You swiped your fingers over the crystals and brought it to your lips— immediately, you tasted salt. Your face twisted into a grimace at the flavor.

"Marius— this is salt." You deadpanned, shaking your head at him. "How did you mess this up?"

Marius laughed nervously, "is it too late to add the sugar?"

You sighed, nodding. "A bit too late..."

For the first time in forever, Marius finally got a break day from both his Pax duties and luckily, you finished up all the paperwork before the weekend started and didn't need to stay overtime. The two of you were also freed from NXX obligations— no specific cases, no meetings; just time reserved for the two of you.

With this free time, you and Marius lazily went about the day lounging around his shared penthouse with you. Around noon, you suggested baking something to pass the time and to be somewhat productive (since the two of you have been laying in bed all day).

"Maybe we should've consulted the pastry chefs before we started this..." You sighed quietly, eyeing the rising batter inside the oven.

Marius laughed cheerily, setting his phone aside on the marble counter. "Maybe... but it was you who insisted that we try this without help."

"Hey! Don't blame me for this... you're the one who didn't check if it was salt or sugar!" You huffed, turning your head away as Marius pushed you against the counter behind you, caging you in his arms. A playful smirk laced his lips as he leaned close. His signature cologne filled your nose; the crisp scent of bergamot and cedarwood comforted you as Marius pressed a kiss against your forehead.

"Don't frown too much, Miss. You're going to get wrinkles by thirty." Marius chuckled, kissing your temples to cast your glower away.

You pouted, playfully pushing Marius away.

"Marius. Von. Hagen." You enunciated each syllable of his name, feeling the words weigh heavily upon your tongue. Heat rose to the apples of your cheek, darkening your face as Marius pulled back with another laugh.

"I can't help myself, Miss." Marius teased, using his slender fingers to lift your chin up— his eyes glinted with mischief. "You're far too cute."

You flushed, cheeks blazing at his forthright comment. You stared back at him, your gaze meeting his violet hues. In a split second, Marius captured your lips with his— his tongue sweeping over your bottom lip to impart him access into your mouth. His tongue danced with yours; prompting a moan to escape your occupied lips. Marius pulled back from you, smirking to see your flustered, messy expression. Your lips agape, bruised by soft bites and rough kisses. Glassy eyes, darkened cheeks, heavy breathes— Marius resisted the urge to continue and have the situation escalate into something less than appropriate however he may be tempted to carry on.

"M-Marius..." You panted, clinging onto his shirt tightly. He couldn't help but grin wickedly at your feverish state.

"What's the matter, Miss?" He mused, humming quietly as he gently pressed a kiss against your forehead. "Use your words..."

You huffed, smacking him playfully. "Don't be a tease."

Marius laughed, pulling you close. "You're fun to tease, I can't resist myself."

You sighed quietly, opting to rest your head against his chest. "You need to learn some self control, mister."

"Oi, is that how you address the President of the Pax Group?"

You huffed, pulling back to roll your eyes at him. "You're my boyfriend too. I can address you however I'd like."

Marius laughed, his chortle echoing the empty kitchen— the way his eyes closed and crinkled with joy brought a smile to your face. The public only ever understood him as the rich playboy CEO of the Pax Group— never as his true, teasing self. Though he spoiled you, he never flaunted his wealth in front of you. Marius always proposed the most down-to-earth activities so that he could take a step away from his reality. He did his best to keep his personal obligation away from your relationship— keeping to his true self and that made you happy.

Your heart always fluttered at the sight of his teasing smirk, the mischievous glint in his eyes, the way his laugh resonated with euphoria. Of course, you never admitted this aloud to him— knowing Marius, he would tease you endlessly.

"(y/n)~ Are you okay? You've been staring at me for an awful long time now." You snapped out of your trance, blinking twice before you realized that you were staring blatantly at Marius.

"I-I'm fine!" You asserted with hesitation, your words frantic and unclear.

Marius chuckled softly at your frantic disposition before wandering over to the oven, gesturing to the cake inside. "In any case, the cake is almost done. Let's hope it's not that bad."

You sighed, nodding as you wandered over— eyes flickering to Marius. His violet eyes glittered with felicity, a smile matching that same contentment. So long as he was happy, as were you.
