Chapter Text
Katsuki’s first kiss wasn’t that memorable, just a boy that pulled her to a corner and covered her mouth with his. It wasn’t special and it wasn’t pleasant. When she thought about it, Katsuki would remember it as just a meaningless touch.
All her kisses after that had been meaningless in one way or another. She never felt the butterflies and she was never giddy. More often than not, when someone kissed her, she would think how long it would last and if she was doing it right. The people that kissed her always seemed so happy after the kiss, so excited… and yet, Katsuki never felt anything.
It took her years to realize that she was different. That all those touches that made other people happy didn’t do anything to her. You see, she didn’t need them to be satisfied.
At least that's what she believed before dating Deku.
Their first date had been amazing, they talked, had ice cream, hugged and held hands the entire time. In Katsuki’s eyes, their first date had been perfect.
In all her previous dates, Katsuki always got kissed at the end and (sometimes) even groped. No need to say that the ones who did that never got a second date. The one exception until now was Kirishima, who was her best friend, so he was different and didn’t really count.
But now with Deku as her boyfriend, Katsuki actually felt comfortable and (oh my) happy. It took her a while, but now she would cuddle with him on the common room’s couch, fall asleep on him while he watched his hero documentaries and hold his hands every time they were together. Katsuki also found out (with a little shock) that she actually loved to show off the nerd and their relationship to everyone that would look at them.
Especially to Round Face and IcyHot (those fuckers!).
But as time passed she started to feel that something was missing. Something… more . She couldn’t really name it, but she craved it nonetheless. When she finally found out what it was, Katsuki almost had a heart attack.
It was an ordinary afternoon where they were in the nerd’s room just hanging out, he was messing with his phone while Katsuki was almost falling asleep cuddling up to him. You couldn’t really blame her since Deku was comfy and really warm, not to mention the arm he had wrapped around her to keep her in place. It was a steady presence that comforted her and actually made Katsuki feel safe.
“Kacchan,” he called with a whisper. “You know you can’t sleep here.”
“Shut up,” she mumbled, refusing to open her eyes. “I’m not sleeping.”
“But you’re about to.”
She didn’t say anything, choosing to nuzzle against his arm. That made the nerd laugh and they stood like that for a little longer. But, when Katsuki was almost asleep, Deku talked again:
“Come on, Kacchan,” he got up, ignoring her whines. “I’ll take you to your room.”
Katsuki grabbed his arm and whined again, refusing to move. Izuku couldn’t help but smile at that, since a while back Katsuki would never do anything like this. She was always too guarded, too serious. To see her that relaxed around him was a pleasure that Izuku never imagined having, and now that he had that, he never wanted to let her go.
But there were rules about the dorms and Izuku didn’t want Katsuki to get in trouble. So, with a deep breath, he took her in his arms and got up.
“What are you doing, shitty nerd?” she mumbled, finally opening her eyes.
“Taking you to your room.”
“I can do it myself, you know?” she said, crossing her arms.
“I know Kacchan can do anything she wants,” he replied with a big smile. “But she doesn’t have to all the time.”
Katsuki doesn’t know if it was the words or the smile she gave her at the end, but she found herself looking at Deku’s lips while licking her own.
It was embarrassing and she had to look away the rest of the way, but as soon as Deku placed her on the ground she missed the contact.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” he said with a smile.
Being the asexual disaster Katsuki was, she didn’t know what to do to keep the nerd close and she watched in horror when he took a step back.
“Wait!” she said (almost screamed),, grabbing his arm.
Izuku looked at her with a soft smile and waited, but Katsuki was stuck. Her mind had gone blank and she couldn’t think of anything to say. Her palms were getting sweaty and she could hear her heartbeat exploding in her ears.
“It’s okay Kacchan,” Deku said, giving her a kiss on the cheek. “Go to sleep and I’ll see you tomorrow, okay?”
Katsuki didn’t deserve the nerd. He was always so understanding and always knew what to say to ground her, it was insane!
She watched as he slipped away and, when he was gone, she closed the door and threw herself in bed. What the fuck had just happened? Was she really expecting the nerd to kiss her? Like really kiss her?
Katsuki never craved for a kiss before, never craved to be touched or held. But with the nerd it was different and she found herself actually craving those things. It was scary in one way and exciting in another.
It took her a week to accept the fact that, yes, she wanted to be kissed by the nerd. Not hugged or kissed on the cheek (which were still nice), but actually kissed, you know? On the mouth.
Katsuki wanted to feel close to the nerd, she wanted to feel connected to him. God Damn it, she wanted to feel the damn butterflies on her stomach!
So, when they hung out in his room again, Katsuki was so excited that she was almost literally exploding.
She had a talk with Mina and Kirishima about it, those two were way too excited for her liking and had terrible ideas. “You should seduce him!” and “Start dropping hints!” didn’t work for her. Katsuki was a headstrong girl that always got what she wanted. She didn’t beat around the bush, she didn’t drop hints.
She was direct .
So, the moment they sat on Deku’s bed, Katsuki turned to him and asked:
“Why don’t you ever kiss me?”
Izuku, bless his heart, got so red that it looked like his face was about to explode. It would be a cute sight if Katsuki wasn’t on a mission.
“Tell me, shitty nerd!” she demanded, still looking at him with blazing red eyes.
“I-i-it’s not like I don’t wa-a-nt to...” he started, not really looking at her.
Katsuki was about to make another demand, but Izuku covered her mouth. She tried to ignore the fact that his hand was ginormous and actually listen to him, because he was talking again.
“I k-know Kacchan doesn’t like certain things...” he said, still blushing like there was no tomorrow. “A-and I try to give you space...”
He finally looked at her and saw her eyes, the glente rare glow in them calmed him enough so he could continue without stuttering:
“Honestly, I’m just so happy that you let me hold you.. I don’t want to ruin things by trying to kiss you, since I know you don’t like it.”
They stood in silence for a moment, until Katsuki pulled his hand away from her mouth. Is was her turn to blush, but she refuse to back down now, so she mumbled:
“I told you,” she looked at him. “I don’t mind when it’s you.”
Green locked on red and now both of them were blushing. Katsuki bit her lower lip, just waiting for the nerd to do something, anything. And he didn’t let her down.
“I’m honored, Kacchan,” he said, touching her face again. But this time it was a light touch on her cheek and turned her whole skin into lava.
He leaned in and, in a blink of an eye, his lips were on hers. The moment their lips touched it was almost like lighting, and Katsuki would know since she was hit with Kaminari’s attack three days ago. Izuku’s lips were chapped from nervous biting, but were also really soft and inviting. His hold on Katsuki’s face was light, almost not there, but enough to ground her and make her realise that it was real, it was really happening. It was everything her first kiss should have been: it was exciting and fun, was pleasurable and new.
It was perfect. He was perfect.
