Chapter 4

Notes:

I was supposed to update this last weekend, but my cousins decided they wanted to take a surprise road trip with me, so I didn’t have time to update. I’m so sorry for the delay.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Jungkook sat in the back seat of the car, looking around curiously as he tried his best to investigate the area around him while still being confined by the seatbelt. Hoseok watched him through the rear view mirror and smirked at how cute the bunny hybrid looked as his 6 inch ears stood up tall on either side of his head and twitched with interest as he watched all the sights and smells zooming outside the car.

Back at the pet store the dancer had noticed that Jungkook’s ears were smaller than the other bunny hybrids’, but he didn’t mind. It only added to the bunny’s cuteness.

Hoseok cooed quietly, wishing the bunny was sitting upfront with him, so he could gently pet his hand through the hybrid’s ears, but sadly, by law any hybrid under the age of 20 wasn’t allowed in the passenger seat of a car.

So the human stuck his lower lip out in a pout and began driving faster. The sooner he got home the sooner he could wrap his arms around his baby.

Before they knew it, Hoseok was finally pulling into the first parking spot he saw in his parking garage.
He quickly jumped out (after putting the car in park and turning it off) and ran to Jungkook’s side. The human undid the bunny’s seatbelt and hoisted him up in his arms. Hoseok used one arm to support Jungkook against his hip, then used the other to grab a small bag that contained five outfits for Jungkook to wear that the pet store had so generously let him keep for free.

Although Hoseok wanted to take the bunny shopping to buy better and cuter clothes, these would have to do for now. All the hybrid parenting books that he read had warned him against taking a newly adopted hybrid into large crowded areas before they had fully settled into their new home.

Once the human had everything, he shut the car door and locked it before walking into the apartment building. He walked over to the elevator and pushed the button to call it down. The doors immediately opened and the human happily got in and clicked the button with a 5 on it.

Jungkook watched everything with great curiosity and began squirming in Hoseok’s arms. The human kept a firm grip on the bunny so he wouldn’t fall, but Jungkook began whining and making sounds of protest as he tried to push his owner’s arms off of him.
The dancer looked down in confusion and watched his bunny struggle.

“Use your words, bun.” He gently commanded.

The bunny huffed in annoyance and pouted in frustration. “Put me down.” He softly said with a small whine.

Hoseok gave him a comforting smile before placing the hybrid on the floor. The bunny broke into a huge smile and ran over to the buttons, he instantly began pressing all of them, making them illuminate in a yellow light.

“Kookie, No!” Shouted Hoseok as he grabbed Jungkook’s wrist to restrict him from pressing anymore, but it was too late, all the buttons were glowing bright with the yellow light.

“You can’t press all the buttons, bun.”

“Why not?”

Suddenly the elevator stopped on the second floor, the doors opened and after a few seconds they closed back up. It went up one more floor and stopped again.

Hoseok sighed and looked at the bunny. “You’re only suppose to press the button to the floor you need or else it’ll take forever to get there. Also, pressing all of them at the same time can possibly break the elevator, which would be bad because than we will have to take the stairs.”

The bunny nodded in understand, but his little ears began drooping down to hang over the sides of his head.

Hoseok frowned at the sad expression on Jungkook’s face before quickly pulling him into a tight hug.

“It’s okay, sweetheart, I’m not mad. You didn’t know any better, but next time don’t press all of them okay?”

The bunny nodded before wrapping his arms around Hoseok’s neck and pulling himself up in a silent demand to be carried again.

Hoseok obliged and placed his arm under the hybrid’s bottom and adjusted him so they were both more comfortable.

Finally, the elevator stopped on the fifth floor and Hoseok quickly got off before it could close again.

“We’re almost home, sweetheart.” Informed Hoseok as they walked to the end of the hall and stopped at the door to the left.

The dancer pulled out his keys and unlocked the door. He walked in and closed the door before setting the bunny down. The human kicked off his shoes, then instructed Jungkook to do the same.

Once their shoes were off, Hoseok laced his fingers through Jungkook’s hand and excitedly pulled him down the hallway.

“This is the kitchen.” He said as they arrived at the first room. “Whenever you’re hungry, you can come here and eat some snacks. I will also be cooking all our delicious meals here, so let me know if you have any favorite foods.”

“Pizza!” Quickly shouted the bunny excitedly.

“Pizza?” Laughed the human as he smiled at Jungkook’s eagerness.

“Yeah, every Friday the staff would feed us Pizza. They called it Pizza Friday, it was my favorite day of the week because it was the only time they didn’t force us to eat vegetables.”

“Wow, that sounds fun. But you know vegetables are good for you.”

Jungkook made a disgusted face, making Hoseok burst into a loud laugh.

“Okay, bun. I don’t have any ingredients to make pizza right now, but he can order some for dinner.”

Jungkook’s face lit up, making his eyes sparkle with joy. Hoseok’s smile grew even bigger as he saw the happiness radiating off the bunny.

The dancer continued to show the bunny around the kitchen for a few more minutes. He opened all the cabinets showing Jungkook where he kept all the pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, glasses, and more. He also showed him the pantry and fridge, and explained to him where all the snacks were.

After showing him the entire kitchen they walked out and made there way down the hallway to the next room.

“This is the living room.” Informed Hoseok. “You can watch tv, play video games, take a nap on the couch, or do basically anything you want.”

The human showed the bunny how to turn on the tv, and how to turn on the Xbox in case he ever wanted to play video games.

After showing him the living room they moved on to the laundry room, then the bathroom, then Hoseok’s room, and finally Jungkook’s room.

“So this is your room. It’s poorly decorated right now, but you can decorated it however you want. We can try going to the store next week and getting you a few things. But for now you have a bed, pillow, and blanket, which really is all that is needed in a bedroom. This is where you will be sleeping at night.”

Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. “Only at night?”

“I mean, not really. You’re free to be in your room whenever you want. And if you want to sleep in the living room and not in your bedroom, that’s fine too. But this is basically just a place to call your own, you can come here whenever you want privacy or something.”

“So, I don’t have to be locked in here all day?”

“Heavens no, Of course not! You’re allowed to be anywhere in the house, unless I tell you otherwise. But for now you are not restricted to any room in the apartment, you’re free to go anywhere you want.”

“Wow, thank you.” Grinned the bunny.

“No problem, sweetbun.” Smiled Hoseok before placing a kiss on his forehead.

They spent the rest of the day lazying around. They watched movies on the tv, and Hoseok even taught Jungkook how to play Guitar Hero on the Xbox, the bunny loved it.

And just like promised, Hoseok ordered pizza for dinner. The dancer was shocked when the bunny managed to eat nearly the entire box alone.

Once the sun went down, Hoseok got Jungkook ready for bed. He gave him a warm bath, brushed his teeth, and dressed him in one of his old t-shirts. He then led him to the bunny’s room and tucked him in. But just as Hoseok began walking out of the room, he heard the bunny whimper.

“What’s wrong?” Asked the human as he walked back to sit on the hybrid’s bed.

Jungkook looked up with his puppy dog eyes and held his arms up towards Hoseok. The human immediately bent down and hugged him tightly.

“I don’t want to sleep alone.” Whispered the bunny as he whimpered again.

“That’s okay, how about you sleep with me instead?”

The hybrid eagerly nodded and clung on to Hoseok. The dancer easily scooped him up and carried him to his bed room. The human had a queen size bed, while the bunny only had a full size bed, so they would be more comfortable in Hoseok’s bed.

The dancer tucked the bunny into one side of the bed before getting into the other side. They snuggled together and soon they were both fast asleep.

The next morning, Hoseok woke up bright and early and began making a delicious breakfast for him and his bunny. He hummed cheerfully to himself as he stirred the pan of scrambled eggs. His heart felt so happy it could burst, adopting Jungkook was the best decision he had ever made.

However, there was still a sense of sadness that he got everything he looked at Jungkook. His heart ached at the thought that his hyung didn’t like his bunny, or at least “his kind”. But how could someone not fall in love with his adorable hybrid. He just knew if his hyung got a chance to meet his baby, the eldest would fall in love just like he has.

Hoseok closed his eyes in concentration as he began thinking about a plan. Today was Sunday, and usually on Sundays him and Namjoon would always go over to Jin’s place to hang out and have dinner. Maybe he could take Jungkook over so his hyung could meet him.

Hoseok sighed in frustration, he didn’t want to upset his hyung, but he just needed his hyung to give him a chance.
He let out another sigh and went to wake up his precious hybrid so they could eat breakfast together.

Meanwhile, Jin stood up from the kitchen island in his apartment and put the dirty dishes from his breakfast in the sink. He quickly washed all of them before wiping down all the countertops and kitchen island, and then proceeded too sweep and mop the floors. With his kitchen looking in good shape, he moved to dusting, cleaning, sweeping, and mopping the hallways. He organized all the shoes by the front door, and fixed the crooked photos and paintings he had on the walls. Afterwards he dust, and vacuumed the living room, and them cleaned both bedrooms. Finally, he cleaned the bathroom, and lastly moved on to do his laundry.

Sundays were always his chores day, he would give his entire apartment a good clean then do all his laundry. He didn’t really have time to do it any other day, since he always worked pretty late, but thankfully his apartment didn’t get too dirty since he lived alone, and he wasn’t a very messy person.

The eldest human sat down on his couch and turned on his tv. He put on an interesting looking movie and began folding a load of laundry.
As he folded a t-shirt his phones buzzed to life, signifying that he had a message. The eldest looked down and saw a text from Namjoon.

Namjoon: Hey, Hyung! What’re you making for dinner?
11:27 am

Jin thought for a second and let out a deep breath.

Seokjin: I don’t know, what do you want?
11:28 am

Namjoon: Well I was on Twitter and I saw a recipe for a meatloaf. It looked good, maybe you could try making it???
11:28 am

Seokjin smirked at his phone, he knew Namjoon wanted something special. Namjoon only ever asks him, what he’s making for dinner, whenever he wants something specific. His dongsaengs were so easy to read. We quickly typed a reply and send it.

Seokjin: Send me the recipe
11:29 am

Namjoon: Omg hyung you’re the best
11:30 am

A few seconds later Jin received a text with the link to the recipe.

As Jin looked down at his phone, he began getting an uneasy feeling in his stomach. Suddenly he realized that it had been about 24 hour since he received a message, call, or any contact from Hoseok.

This was very unusual for the dancer because Hoseok usually always texts him first thing in the morning everyday to tell the eldest about his plans for the day or just to say ‘good morning.’ Hoseok always made sure to text him at least once a day.

Jin clicked on Hoseok’s icon and began to worryingly type a quick message, but before he could send it he heard a knock on his front door before it opened and shut.

The eldest put his phone down and looked over in the direction of his door. A few seconds later Hoseok appeared in the doorway of the living room. The eldest let out a breath of relief he didn’t know he was holding and grinned up at the dancer.

“Hey, Hoseokie!” He said cheerfully.

“Hello, hyung!” Replied the younger, but there was a small shake in his voice that told Jin that his dongsaeng was either nervous or scared, this instantly worried Jin more.

“Hobi, what’s wrong sweetheart? I haven’t heard from you since Friday, You okay?”

“Yeah, I’m fine, hyung.” Hoseok gave his hyung a small smile.

“Come here, love. Take a seat, why are you still stand over there?” Jin patted the seat next to him and gave the dancer a warm inviting smile.

Hoseok stayed standing were he was, anxiously shifting his weight from foot to foot. Jin eyebrows tightly knitted together as he began to get even more concerned. What could possibly have his dongsaeng acting like this?

After a few more seconds the dancer took a small step forward, then another. After a few more small steps Jin’s eyes grew when he saw a smaller leaner figure hiding behind the dancer.

The eldest cocked his head in confusion and focused his attention on the figure following his dongsaeng like a shadow.

As Hoseok slowly made his way deeper into the living room the figure became more noticeable. And Jin’s eyes grew huge when he saw two small ears standing straight up on the figure’s head. It was a hybrid.

“Hoseok…” growled Jin in a low threatening voice, causing the dancer to freeze his movements. “What the hell is that?”

Hoseok slowly turned to look back at the bunny behind him, then turned back to his hyung. “Oh, you mean him?” He nervously laughed, but then got quiet and looked down at his feet when he saw the death glare Jin was sending him.

“Jung Hoseok, I made it clear that I did not want a hybrid in my home! So what is that doing here!?”

Hobi’s jaw was clenched shut. He wanted to say something, but he couldn’t help but coward under his hyung’s stern glare.

The dancer looked like a kicked puppy as he sadly reached back to grab the bunny’s arm. “I-I-I just wanted you to meet him.” He said in a shaky voice just barley above a whisper.

“No, I told you before that I want no part of your hybrid’s life! I know you really wanted a hybrid, so congratulations, I’m happy for you. But I thought I made it clear that I didn’t want it near me! I don’t think that’s too much of me to ask.”

“Hyung, please.” Whimpered the dancer as small tears began to fill his eyes.

Jin’s heart was conflicted. He hated seeing his dongsaeng so upset, he knew he should probably calm himself down and hear Hoseok out, but he also felt so betrayed. His precious dongsaeng had brought the thing that caused him the most childhood trauma into his home after Seokjin had trusted him enough to tell him about his fear. He had trusted Hoseok to respect his boundaries, but Hoseok went ahead and stepped over them anyways. So was he really the bad guy for being upset?

Jin angrily watched as the dancer led the hybrid over to the couch across from Jin and sat him down on it.

“Don’t put it on my furniture!” Huffed out the eldest before he could stop himself.

This was the last straw for Hoseok. His sadness and fear were instantly replaced with anger.

“Hyung!” He yelled offendedly. “Stop talking down to him!”

Jin flinched in surprised at the volume of Hoseok’s voice. It was extremely rare for the dancer to raise his voice at his hyung. Jin was more use to it with Namjoon since him and the youngest had gotten into a few arguments throughout the years, but him and Hoseok rarely had disagreements.

The eldest gaped up in shock.

“He is not a thing, he is a hybrid! So stop talking about him like he’s not here! He can hear and understand everything you’re saying, he’s not stupid! His name in Jungkook and he’s the nicest, sweetest, bestest hybrid ever!!! I love him every much and I love you very much too, so excuse me for wanting two of the most important loves in my life to meet!!”

Jin let out a deep exhausted breath and ran a hand across his face. “I understand Hobi. I see your point,” He said in a calmer voice. “But I need you to understand me too. I would do anything for you or Namjoon, you know that right? But all I asked was that you not bring your hybrid near me, that’s the only thing I asked for, and you couldn’t even do that for me.”

Both humans stared at each other as silence engulfed them. The air was filled with tension so thick it could be cut with a knife. They both had more to say, but they kept their lips sealed, too emotionally exhausted to continue. They were feeling frustrated, sad, angry, regretful, and tired all at the same time.

Jin opened his mouth to say something, but before he could utter a word Hoseok’s phone began ringing loudly in the silent room.

The dancer pulled the phone out of his pocket and looked at the caller Id.

“I need to take this.” He mumbled before turning away from Jin and answering the phone.

“Hello?”

Jin rolled his eyes and collapsed all the way back on the couch, taking a moment to forget about his perfect posture as his hunch back to lean against the arm rest.
He snuck a quick glance over at the hybrid and saw the poor thing had folded himself into a ball and was pushing himself deep into the couch.

“Wait, What?! Are you serious?!”

Jin quickly sat up and looked over at Hoseok when he heard his worried tone. Despite still being angry, his hyung instincts had a tendency to over power any other emotion he was feeling, so the eldest was already trying to decipher what was wrong and how he could fix it.

“Okay…Okay…Okay…I‘ll get there as soon as I can.”

As soon as Hoseok hung up Jin stood up from the couch, ready to help in any way possible.

“Who was that? Is everything okay?” Asked the eldest.

Hoseok pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. “No, one of my dancers is in the hospital.”

“Oh my gosh, are they okay?”

“I don’t know. She was at a cheer competition, one that I advised her not to go to since she’s my lead and the competition season starts next week, but apparently she went anyways and got injured during one of the stunts. I need to go to the hospital and check on her.”

Hoseok looked down at Jungkook, then back at Jin.

“Hyung, I need you to watch Jungkook for me while I go to the hospital.”

“What?! No, I can’t!”

“Please, hyung. You have to.”

“No, take him with you.”

“I can’t, there’s too many new sights, sounds, and smells, at a hospital. It’s also too crowded. It will overwhelm Kookie’s senses and cause him to react badly.”

“Okay, then leave him at home.”

“No, you can’t leave a hybrid alone for the first 48 hours that you adopt them, it will mess up his settlement and cause behavior issues. Please, hyung you need to watch him.”

“No, Hoseok I don’t want to be left alone with a hybrid!”

Despite Jin’s words the dancer bent over and laid a kiss on Jungkook’s head, “I’ll be back soon baby, please behave for Jin hyung.” He said before walking out of the living room and making his way to the front door.

“Hoseok-ah, I’m not playing, take him with you!”

The dancer bent down and put on his shoes. “Don’t worry hyung, I’m gonna call Namjoon and tell him to come pick up Jungkook as soon as he can. You’ll only need to watch him for a few minutes.”

“No, Hoseok, get back here! Don’t you dare leave!”

Jin gasped when Hoseok shut the front door on his face. He opened it again and walked out just in time to see the dancer running down the stair case, not even bothering to wait for the elevator.

“Hoseok-ah!!!” He yelled one more time, but the dancer was gone.

The eldest stomped back into his apartment and slammed his door shut. He angrily mumbled to himself as he made his way back to the living room.

He went to stand in front of the hybrid and glared down at him. The bunny had his knees glued to his chest and his arms wrapped around his legs. His eyes were looking down at his feet, avoiding any eye contact with the human.

After five full minutes the bunny began squirming uncomfortably, he could feel the human’s angry eyes on him, but he wasn’t saying anything and the silence was becoming very unnerving.

After a few more minutes Jungkook slowly lifted his head and snuck a glance up at Jin through his eyelashes. However, he immediately regretted it when he saw the furious look on the human’s face. He instantly shot his eyes back down to his feet and tried to push himself further into the couch, hoping it’ll make him disappear.

After another minute, Jin cleared his throat, earning him the hybrid’s attention.

“Don’t you dare break anything!” Growled the human. “You know what, just don’t touch anything! Better yet, don’t you dare even move a muscle! Is that understood?!”

Jungkook wanted to say ‘yes’ and hope it’ll make the human less angry, but for some reason he couldn’t get his voice to work.

Instead his lower lip popped out and began to violently quiver while his eyes filled with tears. He could feel sobs making their way up his throat, but he tried his best to swallow them down.

Jin watched as a tear slid down the hybrid’s cheek, he instantly softened his features and felt regret swell up in his chest.

Jin was not an aggressive person, he had a nurturing personality by nature. His instincts always told him to protect, care and love. He couldn’t stand the sight of anyone or anything being hurt or upset, so obviously when the tears started streaming down the hybrid’s face all of Jin’s anger, fear, and frustration instantly vanished.

“Hey, it’s okay, don’t cry. I’m sorry I yelled, I shouldn’t have yelled.” Quickly said Jin.

But instead of calming the hybrid like he intended it to, it only made the bunny burst into loud pained wails.

“Oh, no. No no no no.” Whispered Jin as he crouched down in front of Jungkook.

“Don’t cry, please don’t cry.”

Jin reached his arms out, but didn’t touch the hybrid. His hands hovered over the bunny’s knees as he internally battled with himself if he should hug the hybrid or not.

Jungkook was sobbing so hard his body began to jerk with each cry, he was finding it difficult to breathe and soon he was choking on his sobs.

Jin immediately wrapped his arms around the hybrid and pulled him in to a loving hug. This hybrid meant a lot to Hoseok and Hoseok meant a lot to him, so he had to protect this hybrid with his life or else he would risk hurting the dancer.
Hobi had left the hybrid in his care, even if it was against his will, but he couldn’t allow the hybrid to come to any harm while in his custody. Hoseok would never forgive him. So the eldest put aside his differences and began comforting the young bunny.

“Shhhh, it’s okay. Everything will be okay.” Jin whispered into the bunny’s ear. The human lifted the hybrid up and began pacing back and forth around the living room while he rocked the weeping bunny. He began humming a slow lullaby while he comfortingly rubbed his hand up and down Jungkook’s back.

This seemed to help, and soon the bunny was breathing more evenly and his sobs began to calm.

“There you go, bun. See, everything’s fine. No need to cry.” Encouraged Jin. “Do you want a treat? Are you hungry? Let’s go to the kitchen and see what we can give you to eat.” Spoke the human as he walked into the next room.

The hybrid looked up curiously, the mention of food peaking his interest. His cried were down to quiet sniffles now, which was a good sign.

Jin opened the pantry door and looked in, he made an unsatisfied noise and closed it before moving to the fridge.

“What do hybrids eat?” The human thought out loud to himself. “Ah ha, bunnies love carrots, right?”

Jin reached into the bottom drawer of the fridge and pulled out a carrot. He rinsed it in the sink and held it up to Jungkook.

“There you go bun, it’s a carrot. You like carrots, right?”

The bunny’s face fell into a sad frown as he looked at the vegetable being held out to him, his eyes grew wet and his lower lip began to tremble again.

“Okay, okay. No carrot, understood. It’s okay, I’ll find something else.” Rapidly uttered Jin as he dropped the carrot on the counter and opened the fridge again.

The human pulled out his phone and googled ‘what do bunny hybrids eat’ before clicking on the first link.

He read the article as fast as he could then gaped in surprise. “So hybrids can eat anything that humans eat?”

He looked at Jungkook questioningly then back at the opened fridge. “What do you want to eat, bun?”

The bunny looked into the fridge then gasped. He reached his arms out and began digging around through the fridge to get what he wanted.

Jin held him firmly in his arms to make sure the hybrid didn’t fall as he rummaged around his fridge. After a few seconds Jungkook reemerged with a small carton of banana milk In his hands.

The hybrid looked down at the carton with a huge smile then held it up to Jin, silently asking him to open it.

“You like banana milk?” Jin asked with a small laugh as he took the carton from the bunny, who eagerly nodded his head.

The human gently placed the bunny down on the kitchen counter, then opened the carton before handing it back to the bunny.

“Does Hoseok let you drink banana milk?”

The bunny nodded again as he chugged the carton.

“He gave me some last night.” He spoke timidly, in a very quiet voice. He was scared that talking might anger the human again, but luckily he only smiled down at the hybrid.

“Personally, I’m not a huge fan. But I do drink it every once in a while. I prefer strawberry, have you tried the strawberry?”

Jungkook shook his head, ‘no.’ Jin opened the fridge and pulled out a small carton of strawberry milk and opened it. He took a small sip then handed it to the bunny.

“Here, try some.”

Jungkook took the milk and drank it, he hummed happily and began chugging that carton too. Jin smirked as he watched.

“Can I have some more?” Nervously asked the bunny as he looked at Jin hopefully.

The human sighed and looked at the hybrid sympathetically. “I would say yes, but I can’t. I have to be the responsible adult here and say, no, because these have way too much sugar.” Informed Jin has he held up the empty cartons, he threw them in the trash can nearby, then turned back to Jungkook. “Hoseok will freak out if he knows I let you have two cartons.”

Jungkook gave a small pout, but didn’t protest.

“I think we should get a real meal in you. I have some left over fried rice in the fridge, do you want to eat that?”

Jungkook shrugged his shoulders and gave a small nod. He wasn’t a picky eater, he’ll eat almost anything, except for vegetables. He didn’t have a problem with vegetables when they were mixed in with the food, in fact he loved putting extra lettuce on his cheeseburgers, he only hated eating vegetables when he had to eat them alone.

Seokjin quickly placed the food in a microwaveable safe plate and warmed it up. Once it was done he placed the plate on the kitchen island and carried Jungkook to sit on one of the stools.

The human watched as the bunny shoveled large spoonfuls into his mouth. *He sure has a good appetite, I can’t believe he can eat a full plate of food after chugging two cartons of milk.* thought Jin with a smirk.

Once the bunny finished eating he let out a huge yawn and stared down at the empty plate with droopy eyes.

“Are you tired, love?” Questioned the human as he reached over to softly push the bunny’s bangs behind his human ears.

Jungkook gave a small nod and leaned into the touch. Jin gave him a soft smile and stood up from his seat, he lifted Jungkook into his arms and began to softly rock him as they walked back to the living room.

The human sat down on the couch with Jungkook on his lap. The bunny’s chest pressed against Jin’s, while his head was tucked into the crook of the human’s neck.

Jin used one hand the rub small circles around the hybrid’s back and the other to gently massage his fingers in the bunny’s hair. He could tell from Jungkook’s slow even breaths that he was fast asleep.

Jin didn’t know how long they stayed like that, he lost track of time as he watched the bunny peacefully sleep.

But suddenly his front door burst open and loudly slammed shut, startling Jungkook awake. The bunny frantically looked around unsure whether to fight or flight. Jin could tell he was still asleep, his poor eyes were barley open, but his little heart was beating a mile a minute.

“Shhhh, it’s okay.” Tried to calm Jin, but he was interrupted by Namjoon tripping over his own feet as he ran into the living room.

“Oh my gosh hyung I’m so sorry I’m late! I tried to get here as soon as I could, Hoseok told me to—”

“Namjoon-ah!” Angrily yelled Jin, cutting off the younger’s words. “You woke him up!”

Namjoon stopped his blabbering and looked down at the drowsy looking hybrid. “I-I… what?”

Namjoon was even more confused now. Hoseok had called him basically crying, on the brink of a panic attack, begging him to go pick up his hybrid from Jin’s apartment as soon as possible because he was terrified for both of their safety.

He explained how he had an emergency, so in the moment his mind was preoccupied with other worries, but once he left the apartment he had realized the seriousness of his actions. However, it was too late to turn back now, because he had already promised his boss that he would check in on his student.

Namjoon promised Hoseok that he would go get his hybrid as soon as his meeting ended. And luckily the meeting ended very quickly, but unfortunately he had gotten stuck in the busy afternoon traffic.

The producer had been panicking the whole way to Jin apartment. From the way that Hoseok had been talking, the younger friend was sure he would find Jin strangling the poor critter. So he did not expect to walk in on his hyung cuddling the thing he hated the most.

Jin carefully pushed Jungkook’s head back down to rest on his shoulder and began caressing the back of the hybrid’s head. The eldest human watched as the bunny closed his eyes and fell back asleep.

“B-but I thought you hated hybrids?” Stutter Namjoon in confusion.

“I do, but I like this one.” Jin looked down and smiled at the bunny.

Notes:

Reading Facts:
Hybrid’s have two sets of ears. Their human ears and their animal ears. They can control which set they hear from.
Their animal ears have super human hearing, they can hear sounds that humans can not, but they are very sensitive to loud noises.
Their human ears just hear what normal humans hear.
Most hybrids use their human hearing as their primary hearing source since their animal hearing is very sensitive and hurts their ear drums a lot, so they mostly save their animal ears for emergencies.
