Chapter Text
Oikawa was supposed to be watching the video of their last match, but he couldn't concentrate. Tobio was sitting on the floor in front of the TV, almost hypnotized. He sat on the sofa, browsing through cat videos on his tab. He kept thinking about breaking the news to Iwaizumi. He wondered what expression would grace his face when Oikawa would explain the existence of Tobio. He could easily imagine the almost perpetual frown on Iwaizumi's face. He wondered if it would deepen into something worse, anger, confusion, betrayal, hurt or discomfort. He couldn't imagine Iwaizumi smiling or laughing or being happy on hearing his words. He jumped when his phone rang. On screen, the whistle blew. Oikawa blinked, bringing himself out of his head.
'Iwa-Chan <333 calling'
Oikawa slipped his headphones off his head, letting them hang around his neck. He ran a hand through is hair and checked himself in his screen before answering.
"Hey babe!" he greeted, already getting up to move to his bedroom.
"hey." Hajime replied. He was moving to lie down on a plush hotel bed, tucking the blanket around his waist.
"How's the most handsome boy in the world doing?" He closed the door behind him.
"I don't know, how are you doing?" Hajime smiled teasingly.
Oikawa stopped in his tracks on the way to their bed. "What!?? oh my god! Hajime!! you never reply like that! you always say you're doing fine, all bored and unbothered!"
Hajime chuckled at his reaction. "just missed you." He mumbled before pulling the covers over his head.
Oikawa was shocked. He stood still, just watching hajime wiggle under the covers. Hajime peeked out from under them.
"Torru, i think your video is stuck?" He reached to tap his screen to check his connectivity.
"My video is fine!" Oikawa spluttered.
"say that again!" He jumped onto their bed, excitedly. "You heard me." Iwaizumi grumbled.
"I did. Say it again, say it in french!"
Hajime laughed. He tucked a hand under his head. god, oikawa missed his arms. Not that he missed a part of hajime, he missed hajime as a whole, but his arms, oikawa could wax poetry about them.
"I miss you too." He stage whispered.
"I know." Hajime rolled his eyes.
" How was the wedding?" Oikawa smiled.
"great." Hajime's laconic reply suggested something was up.
"Did something happen?"
"nah. I just missed you, everyone was a couple here. I was the only one stag. It was kinda boring and annoying at the party especially. The wedding was beautiful and fun. I think you would have liked it." Hajime turned to lay on his back.
Oikawa smirked. "So you're grumpy because you didn't have your Torru." He teased.
"I'm grumpy because you were supposed to be here with me." Hajime chided.
"Iwa-chan i told you, it-"
He cut himself off when the door to his room opened. "uhhh- otosan. I can't reach the sink? Where's the stool?" Tobio poked his head.
"Bathroom?"
"thank you." Tobio shut the door.
Oikawa held his breathe waiting for hajime to talk.
"Who was that?" Hajime squinted at the camera.
Oikawa swallowed. "that was um- neighbor's kid, just watching him for a bit."
"Neighbor? Itadori-san? Itadori san doesn't have kid." Hajime frowned.
"his grandkid." Oikawa hoped.
"He doesn't have a kid, how would he have a grandkid? OIkawa did you kidnap someone?"
"NO!"
Hajime sat up now. "Who was that torru?" He sounded concerned more than mad so Torru tried to speak but couldn't. "You're just moving your mouth, I can't hear anything. Let me grab my ear-plugs." Hajime moved out of the view and torru let out the breathe he was holding.
Fuck this. He muttered.
"That was a kid right?" Hajime returned.
"That was matsukawa'a son!" He blurted out.
Kuroo
They meet again, waiting for the elevator to come up again. Kuroo was dressed for work, his hand loosely holding to Lev's. This time, kuroo was there first and the boy came after. Lev looked up at the unfamiliar face. "hi." He bowed slightly. Kuroo kept his eyes glued to his phone. He knew it was that boy because he had caught a glimpse of his blond locks. "hey." the boy replied. Out of the corner of his eyes, kuroo saw the boy wave at his son. He still refused to look, not ready to give up.
"I'm Lev Kuroo. I'm 6 years old. I'm in cat classroom."
Kuroo tightened his hold on Lev's hand, before gently tugging him into the elevator. The boy followed.
"I'm-" He seemed hesitant. "I'm Kozume Kenma. I'm 26 years old and I have a cat."
"Can i see!?" Lev jumped. Kuroo pulled him back. "Lev, don't bother them." He finally looked up at the boy.
"I don't have him now. He's at home. Maybe later." Kenma smiled. Kuroo cursed himself for looking.
"later." He mumbled and tugged lev out of the elevator.
Kenma
Kenma watched the man and his son leave.
"Later."
He said to no one as the lift doors closed. He pressed the button to his floor, taking it back up. Yaku was going to be mad but technically he didn't leave the building. Plus the man had a son. He's safe right. It should be. Kenma rested his head against the cool metal. He hoped it would be.
