The boy let out a laugh. “Don’t worry about it. Hey, you look like you need some help, why don’t I help you sober up and if you want we can talk about what’s bothering you.” The boy offered. Yamaguchi did not know what he did in his past life to deserve this, but he silently thanked himself for bumping into a seemingly nice person. The pair walked to the kitchen and the boy got a glass of water for Yamaguchi to drink to help him sober up. Tadashi took the glass after muttering thanks, 5 glasses down and he seemed sober enough to talk.
“Before we start… with whatever we’re about to do, let’s introduce ourselves! I’ll go first,” The boy exclaimed. Yamaguchi winced, he was on the edge of having a hangover and hearing a stranger shout was not helping him in any way. “Oh my apologies, I forgot that you would have a hangover.” He lowered his voice and started introducing himself. “I’m Tooru Oikawa, but you can just call me Tooru.”
“Well, nice to meet you Tooru, I’m Tadashi Yamaguchi, I don’t really care what you call me, anything is fine.”
“I could call you mine, and you wouldn’t care?” Oikawa added. Yamaguchi started to feel the heat rise to his cheeks. Oikawa let out a laugh. “I’m just joking, I mean, how would I be able to call you mine if I don’t even know you?” Yamaguchi let out a silent laugh, one only Oikawa could hear. Yamaguchi still had some alcohol in his system, causing him to be on the high and Tooru talking was definitely not helping. Tadashi suddenly started becoming less aware of his surroundings and focused more on the boy in front of him.
“Yams, who is this?” Yamaguchi clenched his fists. That voice was the last thing he wanted to hear right now. He turned his head and smirked.
“Now he appears” Yamaguchi once again muttered and yet again, only Oikawa heard. Tooru covered his mouth so as to not let out a laugh or even a snort. “Tsukishima, weren’t you getting shit-faced?”
“What’s that supposed to mean? What’s got your panties in a twist?” Tsukishima replied, raising his brow. Yamaguchi almost scoffed, how preposterous could someone even be? This man goes and kisses other girls as if it was a daily thing, not even a slight glimpse of shame could be seen. Tadashi heard his heart shatter piece-by-piece. Were those two years really all for nothing? Did it never mean anything to him? Yet again, tears were prickling on the side of Tadashi’s eyes and he could feel the lump in his throat. It was suddenly really stuffy and Yamaguchi was having trouble breathing properly. He started touching his fingers and mentally counted to stabilise himself, but it was to no avail.
“My apologies but it seems like the bathroom is calling me. I will see you, gentlemen, later.” And with that, Yamaguchi rushed to the nearest bathroom in Kuroo’s house. He got in, locked the door, and slid down. Tears rushed to his eyes and Yamaguchi had to put his fist in his mouth to prevent himself from making too loud of a sound. His sobs were being choked to silence, and his hands were shaking. As much as he tried, Tadashi could not calm down. The moments before kept replaying in his mind and he could not shake them away.
After what felt like ages, Yamaguchi got up from the floor and saw his face in the mirror. It was shattered, all the emotions he felt were painted on his face and he could not remember how to hide them. He got out of the bathroom and walked to the place where Oikawa and Tsukkishima were conversing.
“I hope the both of you had a lovely time talking while I was gone, I am ready to get shitfaced right now. You guys up for some drinks?” Yamaguchi exclaimed. It was almost hilarious how he was crying a few minutes ago, it was like his demeanour completely changed.
“Someone needs to be sober to take care of your drunk arse,” Oikawa commented. Tadashi let out a snort.
“I don’t drink, you know that Yams,” Tsukkishima said irritably.
“Hm, I must’ve forgotten. Well then I guess I will be the only one drinking tonight,” Yamaguchi commented. He walked to the fridge beside the counter they were all at, opened it and took out six bottles of beer.
“This won’t make me that drunk but there will be enough alcohol in my system.” Yamaguchi thought. He was going to need some alcohol if he had to deal with both Tsukishima and Oikawa in the same room with him. He placed the beer bottles on the table, picked one up, and opened it with his mouth. Oikawa looked at him in surprise and Tsukkishima irritably rolled his eyes.
“Cheers!” Tadashi exclaimed and chugged the bottle. He let out a contented sigh and put the empty bottle down.
“While we watch me finish these bottles, Kei would you mind explaining who that girl was? Big guy, huh? You didn’t even tell me that you were dating someone, eh?” Yamaguchi revealed. He had been wanting to say that since Tsukkishima had walked over and was so glad that he finally had the guts to do it.
“W-what girl are yo-” Tadashi was holding his third bottle and had forcefully placed his index finger onto Tsukkishima’s lips. He could not bear to hear the lies.
“Don’t lie to me, Kei. You know who I am talking about. I’ve mentioned her multiple times, remember? I thought you told me that she was your sister, that’s not very nice of you to kiss your sister.” Yamaguchi replied. He was sick and tired of all the bullshit Tsukkishima was throwing at him right now and he could not stand the fact that the two-year relationship he had with Tsukkishima as his romantic partner was all for nothing.
