Chapter Text
Request: So continuing this one, fin stays w y/n throughout the pregnancy, but around the 7th month he meets someone else. And y/n had actually gained feelings for him throughout the pregnancy, so she gets kinda jealous especially when he's not spending as much time w her as he was before. Then something and happens to y/n, it can be whatever you want, while fins out with the girl. And just to be clear fin still loves and cares for her, but he lost hope in her ever having feelings for him so he was trying to find someone to get his mind off of those feelings (but he still really had feelings for y/n). You can decide what else happens.

Whoever said pregnancy is the best phase in life obviously never went through it.
You were currently throwing up your lunch in the squad bathroom.
"You okay?" a voice said behind you startled you as your reflex kicked in and your fist hit something.
Not something.
Someone.
"What the hell?!" Sonny clutched his already bruising cheek.
"Why the hell are you sneaking up on me like that?" you said as you tried to examine the injury but Sonny swatted you away.
"Jesus I'm sorry," he said his accent apparent as glanced up to the mirror to see a purple and blue mark adorning his left cheek.
You tried again to look at his cheek and this time he let you. As you looked at it you felt horrible for punching him.
What kind of person punches their best friend?
You could feel your eyes start to water as you run your finger across his cheek.
And then you were crying.
"I'm sorry Sonny. I'm such a bad friend," you sobbed as a confused Sonny comforted you.
"Y/N it's okay," he said as another person walked in.
"What did you do?" Fin asked aggressively.
"The hell? I didn't do anything it's just the hormones," Sonny said exasperated. He was growing tired of your hormones always kicking in when he was around.
"Then why does it look like she punched your lights out?"
"Because I apparently sneaked up to her and then she felt bad and she started crying and now that you're here you can comfort her because I have to meet Barba at court and I would like to put some ice on my cheek," Sonny said as he lightly pushed your sobbing self away toward Fin.
As he hugged you Sonny walked out tiredly.
"Did you throw up again?"
You sniffled, "Yeah. I can't seem to be able to keep much down."
"Well, the doctor says it will probably get better after a while."
You snorted, "Yeah sure."
Fin handed you a paper towel so you could wipe your face.
"It's just a couple more months," Fin offered to try to make you feel better.
"That makes it a whole lot better thanks," you said sarcastically as you finished washing your face.
"Are you sure you didn't drink out of Barba's coffee this morning you seem to be in a bad mood," he said jokingly but you only glared at him.
"Alright, tough crowd sorry."
You hated pregnancy. There was just no other way to put it. You had envisioned a whole different picture. But that's the way it is and you were just gonna have to suck it up. The only comfort to you was the kicks that you would get throughout the day reminding you of the small bundle of life growing inside of you. It was all for them. And you would go through it for them no matter what.
Fin had insisted on moving into your apartment while you were pregnant. He didn't want you to exert yourself too much. He went to all the appointments and would go out in the middle of the night to get your weird late-night cravings of vanilla ice cream with mustard packets. You were happy to have him around. He was everything you needed him to be. And as time passed you noticed butterflies forming in your stomach that were not baby kicks every time he did something for you. You had feelings for him but you knew you had told him that you didn't want that and you were convinced it was just the hormones.
But was it?
"That's a nice punch that you gave Carisi," Fin's voice drew you back to reality.
"I don't think he thinks the same."
He chuckled, "I'm sure Barba will bring you food to thank you for making Carisi be quiet for a day."
You laughed, "Meanie."
"Why don't you head home early?"
"What?" you asked questionably. Yes, it was harder to work but you refused to take any time off much less go home early.
"Go home and eat something and I'll be home later."
"I'm fine."
"The toilet with your stomach contents begs to differ," he says gesturing to the stall.
You huffed in defeat, "Fine."
"Alright, I'll drive you."

After Fin had dropped you off you spent the rest of the day looking at baby magazines and shopping online for clothes.
To say you were obsessed was underestimating.
Your apartment was filled with toys and blankets and a bunch of other stuff that you would randomly buy at the store. FIn teased that you would need a bigger place if you kept it up.
You laughed. You would absolutely be keeping it up.
You went to the kitchen to try and get something in your stomach. You really wanted pizza from that one place the squad frequented.
You looked at your phone and saw it was getting late. FIn would probably be finishing up paperwork. You called his work phone because he usually had his personal on silent so he wouldn't get distracted.
"Hello?" a familiar voice said.
"Sonny? I meant to call Fin's phone," you said.
"Doll he left a while ago."
"What?"
"He said he was going out with his girlfriend tonight so he asked Liv if he could leave early."
You felt nauseous and you knew it wasn't the baby.
"His girlfriend?" you whispered.
There was a pause on the line.
"You didn't know?"
You hung up.
How could he have not told you?
It shouldn't have mattered to you.
You had made yourself clear to him that day.
He was free to be with whoever he wanted.
And yet...
It hurt to know that he had just been able to move on.
And you knew why even if you didn't want to admit it.
You loved him.
But he didn't anymore.
You started to sob and spent a good five minutes trying to get yourself together when you felt something nudge your ribcage.
You smiled. Your baby was trying to make you feel better. You rubbed your growing belly before you decided that you would go and get pizza and eat the entire thing by yourself and watch romantic movies.
You would have to move on.
Just as he had.
You got your jacket and went out where the cold air greeted your face. It was starting to get dark. You were bad at directions so you told Carisi to text you the address so you could look it up on Google maps. It was a short distance from your apartment.
As you approached the final crosswalk, a text came on your phone.
Everything okay?- Sharkfin
You rolled your eyes as you ignored his text and saw the walk light flash.
As you walked across you saw Fin and another woman standing by the pizza place you were going to.
And that was the last thing you saw before you heard a screeching sound and everything went dark.

Why is everything so bright?
You heard loud talking around you as you opened your eyes.
And so loud?
As you went to touch your stomach you were met with no bump.
You already felt panic rising in your chest.
"Where is my baby?"
Everyone's head turned towards you.
"Y/N..."
You were hysterical, "WHERE IS MY BABY?"
A doctor ran in hearing the commotion and instructed everyone to leave.
As the doctor looked at you you felt a sense of dread.
"Miss L/N. First of all, I want to let you know that your baby is fine."
You felt a huge sense of relief.
But that went away as quickly as it came.
"But I was only seven months pregnant..."
The doctor gave you a warm smile.
"Your baby is a fighter and so are you. We had to do an emergency c-section and you lost quite a bit of blood but miraculously you only have slight bruises and a concussion from the impact of the car. Your husband was quick to call the paramedics."
You felt a warm rush of blood rush to your face.
"Oh, he's not.."
The doctor gave a small smile.
"Forgive me. I'll bring your baby and let everyone back in."
As everyone flooded back into the room you felt a sharp pain in your head.
"You know I love you guys but can you all shut up?" You said clutching your head.
Everyone was silent before you saw Olivia step towards the door.
"Why don't we come in one at a time? She's been through a lot today she doesn't need everyone bombarding her space," she said as she gently started pushing everyone out the door.
Everyone except Fin.
As soon as everyone had left and the door was shut he sat down and took your hand.
"Why were you out?" he asked quietly.
"I wanted some food," you answered avoiding his gaze. You felt stupid. All of this could have been avoided had you been able to be a mature adult but of course, you let your emotions get the best of you.
"I could have got it for you," Fin said his tone raising so slightly you would have missed it had you not been that close to him.
"Really? Because you looked pretty busy when I saw you," you shot accusingly.
His grip on your hand tightened as hurt flashed upon his face.
"I would have left her in a heartbeat."
You were close to tears.
"Why?" you said your voice shaking.
"Because there will never be another person who could be more important than you. I will never love anyone more than I love you. You asked for space and I gave it to you but don't think for one second that that changed what I felt towards you. I tried to distract myself with her but I can't just make it go away."
There was a moment of silence as you took in everything he said.
Then you glanced at him to see if he was lying.
And all you could find were love-filled eyes and gentle looks.
"I love you too," you whispered into the silent room.
He smiled as he pressed a kiss to your lips.
Everything would be okay.
As you pulled away the nursed walked in with a small cart.
You felt your heart skip a beat.
It was your baby.
As the nurse handed them to you you felt Fin hug your side and press a kiss to your cheek as you both watched in awe at the little bundle in your arms.
You smiled and knew that fate had a funny way of doing things but you were happy with your new little family.
