Chapter Text

Seokjin regretted waking up the second he opened his eyes.

He winced when his once peaceful eyes were now open and the sun rays aimed right at them. He squeezed them shut and turned his body around to avoid the unfortunate bright sunlight. He made a face of annoyance at how stiff he felt with his jacket on. Subconsciously, he took the jacket off and threw it somewhere on the bed. Now a bit more comfortable, he pulled the messily draped covers over his waist up and tucked them around his shoulders.

One. Two. Three. It took Seokjin exactly three seconds for his eyes to suddenly snap open.

Jacket? Covers? Sun Light? Seokjin never left back home…

His sleepy eyes seemed to have instantly disappeared once he caught the view in front of him. A wooden desk, a black cabinet, a closet and-

Seokjin had never scrambled up so quickly when he realized that he was on a stranger's bed. He would have been bothered by the action upsetting his stomach, but he currently didn't have time to dwell on the pain. His anxiety and fear were too high to worry over it.

“Where am I? What happened last night? Oh my god.” Seokjin whispered his worries repeatedly.

Jimin. Jimin had taken him to the club. That's why he was dressed like this. Jimin left him to go find Jaebum and he had a couple of drinks. Okay. And then after-

Seokjin’s blood ran cold. His memory was very foggy but he remembered that fat man perfectly. He blinked rapidly and stared around the room and then looked down at the bed. Oh my god, did he take me?! Seokjin panicked. He was trying his best to remember but his memory was just too blurry. What if…? Seokjin was completely pale now and hoped that whatever he was thinking of definitely did no t happen at all.

As if to make matters worse, Seokjin suddenly heard the flush of a toilet. The teenager turned over his shoulder and stared at the door in which the noise came from. His heart began to beat out of his chest. Oh my god. He’s coming, Seokjin fearfully thought.

The teenager acted fast and scanned around the room quickly to find a way to defend himself. His heart continued to thump as he envisioned that the man would enter the room presumably any second now and god knows what he would do Seokjin.

Hearing the footsteps come closer and closer, Seokjin panicked and grabbed the first thing he saw off the wooden desk. A hard covered textbook. With a shaky breath, Seokjin went to stand behind the door that would open any second now. He brought up the book over his head and nervously awaited for the person to appear.

Seokjin tried not to make a sound when the door finally opened after four seconds of pure nerve wreaking torture. The teenager didn’t even attempt to see the person before him. Instead, he shut his eyes and brought down his arm. Using all his strength, Seokjin struck the tall person’s head with the textbook. Seokjin ignored the sound of pain the person let out and instead dropped the textbook to the ground. He grabbed the person’s hands and held them behind their back before pushing them down to the ground with his knee in a blink of an eye. Seokjin’s eyes were hard and he had never been so glad to have taken self defense classes at school after being dragged by Jimin to go with him.

“Where am I?! What did you do- “ Seokjin stopped his confrontation. A gasp escaped his lips instead. Finally taking into consideration of seeing who he attacked, Seokjin’s stomach tightened at recognizing the one and only, RM.

“Oh my god- Are you okay? I'm so sorry. I thought you were someone else-” Seokjin spluttered out an apology. He felt his face turn hot and red.

“I mean," The rapper let out a groan from the ground. "I think I'll feel better off the floor.” RM's words were mumbled since his chin was currently dug into the hard floor underneath them.

Seokjin blushed again when he realized he still had him pinned down. “Oh, yeah, sorry.” The teenager scrambled off the taller and stood up straight.

The prince realized it was a bad move because his head seemed to have spun in circles. A sudden sharp jab was felt inside his head and Seokjin quickly leaned against the black cabinet, almost losing his balance.

God, how much did I drink? His stomach coiled and his head pounded. Seokjin wasn't enjoying his first hangover.

“H-Hey! Are you okay?” Namjoon had stood up from the ground. He stood at Seokjin's side with a hand outstretched in case the other lost his balance.

“I almost caused you a concussion and you're asking if I'm okay?” Seokjin looked up and into the rapper’s eyes. He didn’t stare for too long because he winced and brought a hand to his head.

“Trust me, living right on top of a club makes you deal with a lot of concussions.” RM chuckles. Seokjin manages to sneak a glance back at him. Dimples .

Hearing what the rapper said, Seokjin’s forehead creased as he finally questioned where he was. He looked around and saw the King-sized bed he had woken up from (black comforter strewn everywhere) next to a dresser and lampside table. A door (the bathroom, Seokjin had learned) was at the right of the bed. The “household” seemed to be just one big and long room because at the far corner was a small kitchen. Seokjin would admit the home wasn’t the neatest with books lying around everywhere, but it did look nice with the bookshelf and the wooden letters RM hung on the wall. It was a small room, but it was warm and cozy. Seokjin guessed the rapper must live alone here. Seokjin gazed over to a window, the only window he realized, and looked outside. He could see the clouds.

Seokjin must have not realized it, but RM had been following his gaze. Unbeknownst to the prince, RM was good at reading expressions. It wasn’t like Seokjin was good at hiding them either.

“We’re in the attic of the building. I...I live here.” RM quietly explained. Seokjin turned his head back at the rapper. His pink hair had lost the gel by now and messily flopped over his forehead. Seokjin was still wearing his ript grey shirt and ripped jeans. RM cleared his throat after he tore his eyes away from the shorter. “A very close hyung of mine owns the club, or building I guess, so he lets me stay here.” RM explained before walking towards the kitchen.

Seokjin watched as RM moved around the kitchen and pulled out a bowl. He walked over to the small stove that had a grey pot on it. He poured what seemed like soup into the bowl before placing it down on the kitchen table.

“It’s seaweed soup.” RM explained. He nodded over to Seokjin to come sit at the small two-seat dining table by the kitchen. “I’ve gotten drunk enough times to know how bad a hangover is. Trust me, this will make you feel better.” RM said.

Seokjin didn’t move for a second until he came to the conclusion that he had no reason to not trust the man. He also did not appreciate the headache he was facing. Seokjin walked over to the table and sat down. Quitely, he took a sip of the soup and sighed at the warmth of it. He instantly felt a lot better. RM didn’t stay to stare at him (which Seokjin was thankful for) and instead shuffled about his room.

As Seokjin continued to eat the soup, he began to slowly regain parts of what happened last night. The fat man had tried to take him away, but he didn’t. Someone had saved me. After a couple of more minutes, Seokjin’s memories had completely returned, and he wished they didn’t. Seokjin turned red again. RM had saved him.

Seokjin nearly fell out of his chair when his phone vibrated against his pocket. He looked around to see if RM had seen him, but thankfully the other was in the bathroom. Seokjin took out his phone and sees the Caller's ID: Jimin. Seokjin’s eyes widened. He completely forgot about his friend!

Seokjin answers the phone and brings it to his ear, “Jimin?” He whispers.

“Hyung! Why haven’t you been answering me?! I thought you were dead!” Jimin loudly yelled through the speaker. Seokjin frowned and pulled back his phone. He checks his notifications and sure enough Jimin has called him a lot of times. Yesterday night and this morning. Seokjin was really a deep sleeper.

“Whatever, nevermind that now, are you home now? Are you okay?” Jimin asked him, a bit calmer now since Seokjin had answered him.

“What? Home? No, I’m still at the club.” Seokjin trailed off. “Wait. Where are you?!” Seokjin asked. His heart began to beat faster than normal. How was he going to get home if Jimin wasn’t here? He was in Ilsan!

“YOU’RE STILL AT THE CLUB?! DAMN IT, IM JAEBUM.” Seokjin winced. Jimin was no longer calm. “Hyung, my parents arrived home yesterday, so I had to hurry back home! I thought they were going to be gone for another month! I couldn’t find you so I asked Jaebum to take you home last night. God, I gave him one job!” Jimin groaned from the other end.

“Hyung, you have to get home NOW. Do you know what day it is?!” Jimin yelled.

It was Saturday. Seokjin thought for a second more before he froze. No. No. No. He was supposed to have lunch with his mother and the King today. Seokjin quickly got up from his seat. He had to go. Now .

“Hyung, don’t worry. If you’re still there, that means Jaebum hyung is still there. Wait for him outside the club and he’ll take you home. Oka-?”

“What’s wrong?” RM frowned from the door of the bathroom.

Seokjin had been in the middle of digging around the covers of the bed to find the leather jacket he had thrown on the bed. He could not leave without the jacket. It wasn’t even his. Seokjin’s eyes widened at the sound of RM’s voice. Seokjin discreetly hung up the phone (not like he was hearing what Jimin was saying in his panic state) before he stood back up straight. Thankfully, he found the jacket had fallen at the side of the bed. Seokjin let out a sigh in relief.

“I’m so sorry. I have to go.” Seokjin said as he reached over the bed to grab the jacket. “I really have to go home now.” Seokjin explained as he hastily put on the jacket.

RM frowned. “I can take you. Do you live around here?” He asked.

Seokjin’s back was to Namjoon. The prince drew his lower lip between his teeth. He didn’t want to lie to him, but he also couldn’t say who he was. He turned back around and shook his head.

“I, um, I’m not from here...from Ilsan. I’m from…” Seokjin nervously trailed off. Where did Jimin say he was from...“Busan!” He said maybe a little too loudly. “I’m from Busan and my friend is picking me up.” He answered a bit more confident now. “I’ll be fine, don’t worry.” Seokjin said as he turned back around and headed to the front door. He slipped on his shoes quickly. At the corner of his eye, he noticed RM’s eyes were still on him. Seokjin almost facepalmed himself when he realized how rude he was being. His mother would have scolded him if she was here.

“Oh, and, thank you...by the way.” Seokjin said after he stood up from putting on his shoes. RM looked over at him as if he doesn’t understand why he was being thanked for. “F-For last night. For saving me from that man and...for taking care of me this morning. Thank you.” Seokjin bowed his head to the rapper.

“Oh,” RM's face relaxed. He waved a hand. “It’s really nothing. I’m just glad you’re safe.” RM smiled. Seokjin smiled back and he really hoped his face didn’t turn red. Seokjin felt awkward just standing there so he nodded again and opened the front door. He was ready to step one foot out when-

“Wait!” RM grabbed his wrist.

Seokjin’s heart skipped a beat at the contact. RM must have realized his sudden action too because he quickly let go a second later. Seokjin turned around and he couldn't help but internally smirk at the sight of the other. He wasn’t the one blushing now.

“What’s...your name?” The rapper nervously asked.

Seokjin stared at the taller for a few seconds. He studied his face. His blonde hair is gelled with a few strands styled over his forehead. He has a long nose and perfect lips. As much as Seokjin hated to admit it, he was beautiful.

Seokjin smiled and softly answered, “Jin.”

The prince walked out the door and left a bewildered RM behind. The rapper didn’t move, a bit stunned, until a few more seconds had passed. He smiled.

Jin.
