Jay puckers up and in that moment it dawns on Jungwon; he doesn’t expect a kiss on the cheek. He expects a kiss on the lips.
It’s late and the leader is as tired as one can be. Any caution he might’ve had is out of the window, especially when it comes to Jay. What Jay wants, Jay gets.
With a deep breath, he closes the distance between them. A soft touch of lips, nothing else. The most innocent, chaste kiss. A peck at best. Jay pulls away a little, eyes lingering on Jungwon’s lips. “I want to kiss you more,” he admits. “I’ve wanted to do that since we woke up, the whole damn day.” Jungwon’s blood rushes to his head, making him dizzy. He’s too stunned to speak. “Tell me I’m reading this wrong,” The older of the two whispers. “Tell me there’s nothing going on between us and that we’re always going to be just friends.” Jungwon can hear the layer of insecurity in his voice. The leader himself is incredibly nervous; that kind of deep seated ache in the pit of his stomach that curls around his spine with every breath he takes. “I want you to kiss me some more, too,” he replies just as quietly. As if they were any louder than above a whisper, the world would crumble around them. “I thought that was more than obvious.” Jay smiles. That kind of smile that’s only for Jungwon, where he grins wide and shows his perfect teeth. “We’ve been dancing around each other for long enough.”
“We could’ve been dancing together this whole time,” Jungwon says before kissing Jay again. It’s slow, no rush. The darkness of the room is the perfect hideout for them. Jay kisses the same way he does anything else; patiently and thoroughly. Jungwon’s mouth is on fire as Jay slides his tongue in, grabbing the back of Jungwon’s head for leverage. The otherwise quiet cottage is filled with the wet noises of their tongues exploring each other.
Jungwon helplessly tugs on Jay’s collar, trying to back into their room where they can kiss some more with the added security of closed doors.
They kiss until their jaws go numb and their lips tingle. They kiss until they’re a giggling mess, wide eyed and chins covered with spit.
Jay pulls the covers up and Jungwon snuggles into his chest. He’s warm, although a bit sweaty. Jay runs his fingers up and down Jungwon’s arm, staring at his face. Once their phones lock, they’re in complete darkness again.
“I really like you, Jungwonnie,” Jay says, drawing circles into the leader’s skin. “I’ve liked you since I-Land days. And then I got to debut with you, live with you.. I can’t ignore this anymore, I adore you so much.” Jungwon’s grin is wide and toothy, he can’t stop smiling as he brings Jay’s face down to press kisses all over his face. “Isn’t it obvious that I like you, too?”
Jay chuckles, then kisses each of Jungwon’s knuckles. “I don’t know, you make fun of me all the time.”
“Out of love, though,” Jungwon giggles, too. He’s dizzy, feeling super warm and happy. “Be my boyfriend, Jay hyung.”
Jay opens his mouth to reply, when a bang interrupts them, then they bang on the wall some more. “Please, please! I’m begging you, be gay tomorrow, I need to sleep.” Jay laughs into Jungwon’s hand, trying to be as quiet as he can. “I’d love to, really. Let’s see how the company handles it, though.”

Heeseung looks very unhappy when they emerge from their room in the morning. There’s a hickey peeking out of Jungwon’s collar. Jay looks smug, the leader is feeling shy.
“I’m happy for you bro, I really am,” Heeseung deadpans. “But the walls here are made of paper and Sunoo and I heard everything.”
Sunoo only nods in agreement before turning to his best friend. “I love you and I’m rooting for you two but if you two fuck in the dorms with us around I will chop your balls off.” He sounds threatening but he can see the corners of his mouth twitching. Jungwon hugs him. He feels great since he woke up in Jay’s arms and they kissed until they heard the staff coming to wake them up. He has a boyfriend now and nothing can bring his mood down-
-well nothing except for this.
Riki sits on Jay’s lap on the bus, legs dangling over the seat next to him. Jungwon just kind of stands there, hoping he would move. Riki snorts, wiggling on Jay’s lap; the older man shoots a desperate look at their leader. Heeseung, who just got onto the bus, sees them and shakes his head before pulling Riki up and dragging him away, to make him sit next to him. Jungwon happily plops on the seat next to Jay and puts his head on his shoulder. Heeseung kicks into his seat from behind. “Be less obvious, maybe?”
“Fuck off, hyung.” There’s no malice in neither Heeseung’s nor Jay’s voice.
They don’t film on the way back. There’s only one manager on the bus with them. Vast majority of the guys are sleeping, except for Sunoo, who sits across from Jungwon, and Jungwon himself.
Sunoo checks once again if everyone else is asleep, then grins at his best friend. “ Be my boyfriend, Jay hyuuuung,” he mocks him. Jungwon rolls his eyes but the tips of his ears turn red. “Why weren’t you asleep? Blowing Heeseung hyung under the covers?”
“I will hit you!” Sunoo says, grimacing. “Hyung and I aren’t like that. He likes Jake, anyway.” He looks somewhat sad. “Who wouldn’t. I like him, too, after all.” Jungwon reaches over to hold Sunoo’s hand. If there’s anyone who deserves happiness, it’s Jungwon’s best friend.
“I’m really happy you got it all sorted out,” Sunoo smiles although it still doesn’t reach his eyes. Jay squeezes Jungwon’s thighs, clearly awake but not wanting to interrupt them. “Maybe you should tell them, you know? That you like them.”
“I’m not as lucky as you are, Jungwon-ah,” Sunoo shakes his head.

Nothing really changes after they get back. They still have their schedules, their daily training and practice. The only difference is that now he gets to kiss Jay whenever they get home, he gets to hold his hand and sometimes even sleep in his bed, when Jake feels nice enough to sleep in Jungwon’s room. They’re still very lowkey, no one but the guys know. They’re making sure that the group operates smoothly even with them dating, so that they can use it as a counter argument when they eventually do tell the management.
Jungwon is generally much happier now. There’s still bumps, he’s still stressed, but he also knows that when he comes home, there’s someone waiting for him, someone who’s ready to hold him until he’s all good again.
Two months into their relationship, he sees Heeseung and Jake corner Sunoo in the living room. Smirking, he closes the door and runs to Jay to gossip. They end up making out until their mouths hurt.
So maybe, just maybe, it’s a good thing there was only one bed. Maybe he wouldn’t even be where he is now if there were two.
