The Yule Ball was coming up and Jake rejected the many who came to ask him to go together, as his heart was taken by two certain Gryffindors. But, Jake knew their dynamic. The three were a trio sometimes, but no one really knew that. He was the third wheel, while the two of them were the couple everyone wished to be. He witnessed how Jay and Sunghoon looked at each other, and he witnessed how those looks were never directed towards him. No one ever paid attention to how the two Gryffindors are like with him, and they only know him as their less-than popular friend. So Jake believed it. He was just another face in the crowd, to everyone, and to them. And that was fine. Until it wasn’t. Knowing their dynamic, he let himself try for something else.

Jake loves his best friends, but thinks they only have interest in each other. Jay and Sunghoon show him that he’s wrong.

You know he gets a little fussy, especially after getting cross-faded last night,” Heeseung’s voice suddenly rang out from the hallway, and Jay’s head snapped to meet the fucking vision that was Lee Heeseung shirtless with nothing but a pair of washed-out jeans on.
“I don’t get fussy,” he spoke, eyes focusing with accurate precision on Heeseung’s abs, rather than his face, while the other boy approached the two on the couch.

Jay being a hungover, fucked-out hot mess the morning after a party at Heeseung's while the rest of the hyung line can't seem to do anything but flirt with him. That, as in they bother him relentlessly like the little shits they are.
