Chapter Text
The next morning I forced myself to eat breakfast of eggs. Well one egg and a slice of toast.
Ghostbur kept talking to everyone about everything. He reminded me of a toddler, blabbering almost incongruent words because of the whiny voice he had, the topics of conversation tend to be on the younger side, and how would you like someone tainting your reputation that you blew up a country for.
Ignoring Ghostbur talking and Philza's little praises I thought over Dream's plan. The set date was a bit into the future but not so far away that it didn’t sit heavy on my shoulders.
“Wilbur, what’s your plan for today?” Tec asked.
Playing with the end of the table cloth avoiding my eyes.
I didn’t have the energy to lie this morning so I told the truth “I was going to see Tommy''
The chatter between Phil and Ghostbur passed.
“That’s nice mate, I would go with you but Tec and I are quite busy”
Of course they were, it’s not like I wanted them to join but if they were to tag along I wouldn’t have said no.
I heard that Ghostbur would join me but I wasn’t really focusing on the conversation anymore.
Putting on my shoes I could feel his presence behind me.
I lead the way today.
Heading to the shortcut Ghostbur showed me yesterday.
Despite Ghostbur’s “I don’t think this is a good idea” muttered lightly he kept quiet.
Shortly the snow became soul sand to grass and evenly cobble stone.
Finally I paid attention to my surroundings to look for his house.
Finding his home was easy, the contrast to the well built and throughout buildings compared to his dirt home.
But knocking on the door was harder than it should ever be to knock on a door.
Lucky Ghostbur made a decision and knocked for me, standing slightly in front of me almost shielding Tommy from seeing me or maybe from me.
Rustling of bed sheets filled the silence until Tommy who was wearing sleeping attire opened the door.
“What, oh Ghostbur?” His hands wrapped around the Ghost, his fingers skimped my trench coat as he gave the hug.
Seeing the ghost boy is translucent to some degree now was better than ever “Good morning”.
Tommy visibly flinched by hearing my voice slowly pulling away from Ghostbur to meet me.
“Why are you here?” he tiredly asked, energy spilling out of him the second I spoke.
Tommy's hand found Friends' wool coat and began lazily petting him.
“Are brothers not allowed to see each other?” keeping it light with a smile might do it.
“No, not after what you did” He bluntly said.
“I’m sorry though” I shot back, what else was a man to say.
“That doesn't change what you did!” His hand had accidentally woven it’s way into Friend’s coat a bit too hard making the poor thing cry out. Ghost boy didn’t respond, just stood there holding onto a blue blob with a blank face. Tommy whispered apologies profusely to the sheep giving it pats.
“Look I don’t owe you anything but I’ll do a simple favor to get you off my back, Like a tour.”
“I’m sorry” a lump clogged my through, shoving my hands into my pockets to hide the shaking.
I’m overreacting there was no way I was going to lose him, he just needed time.
“I can’t even tell if you're faking it.” The young blond boy laughed gesturing to my tired eyes and poorly hidden hands “You're a bad brother Wilbur.”
“Oh” Hot tiers dripped down my cheeks, I furiously wiped them away.

Long bruised hand wrapped around my wrist pulling me backwards against his chest, with the strength of ten men. I couldn’t move.
My head forced upwards with his other hand. I saw a black sky that held red stars but the air smelled of rust and blood.
“Twisted man, no one will love you” Chuckling in a voice that was Tommy's but wrong, so wrong and foul. “Go back home”
Red burning wax dripped onto my face from the melting stars above. Not Tommy slithered his hand to open my eye, the other held open my mouth. Wax poured into my unmoving eye.
Seething pain overcame my frozen body only to stop for a moment to fill my mouth with the munten hot wax that burned away my taste buds and peeled back the skin as it flowed down my throat cutting off my scream and choking me slowly. But the red stars had no end to how much wax could melt off and the efforts of being able to breath stopped with it.
Continuously coughing out chunks of hardened wax out of my torn throat only to have more scolding hot wax poured over the already hardened wax poled in my lungs. the night sky began to blur and my heartbeat was pounding through my head.

I was standing in front of Tommy’s door. I was daydreaming?
“Do you want me to knock?” Ghostbur asked, floating closely behind me.
Maybe this is a bad idea but I had come all this way and there is no way I was going to back down with Ghost watching me.
I made a decision and briskly knocked, rustling of bed sheets filled the silence until Tommy who was wearing sleeping attire opened the door.
