Sam lay curled against Jack’s side and couldn’t help the goofy smile from returning to her face. She was still finding it hard to believe this was real. That, after all these years, it took an accident with an alien device to bring the two of them together.
“What’s going on in that big brain of yours?” Jack asked, sleepily.
“I just can’t believe this is real. A part of me wonders if it’s a trick, or we’re under the influence of some bizarre alien device.”
“I could help you with that,” his voice was no longer sleepy, it was rough and raw. She knew exactly how he was going to prove just how real they were, and she was all in.
“Really sir?” She asked innocently. “How might you do that?”
