CHAPTER SIX
The holiday was just what the family needed. Teddy and Victorie joined them on the third night and it was like they were always there.
James and Albus were getting on, really well and it warmed Ginny’s heart as she had not seen them this close since they were children. Lily was happy for Victorie to be there and not feel as left out when her brothers spent time together.
Victorie had announced that she and Teddy had plans to travel the world in 2021, even in a muggle pandemic claiming ‘at least it will be quiet’. Little did she know, Teddy had plans for their trip that she did not know about that he shared with Harry, James and Albus whilst Ginny, Lily and Victorie spent time together. He told them that he was planning on asking Victorie to marry him whilst they were travelling. That gave Harry an idea that he had had since his and Ginny’s twentieth anniversary earlier in the year but were too busy at the time to do it and that was to renew their vows.
He told everyone else and they got to work. Ginny herself was getting suspicious until eventually later in the evening, Victorie pulled her into a room and handed her a garment bag.
‘And what is this?’ Ginny eyed the bag then took it.
'You must wear it tonight’ Victorie replied with a smile.
‘Tori, what are you - oh my, that is beautiful’ Ginny unzipped the bag and saw a velvet midi dress with sleeves in the most beautiful emerald green.
‘I’m going to do your hair and make up and you are just going to go with it,’ Victorie told her and ushered her to a dressing table. Ginny narrowed her eyes but then nodded. Lily walked in a little later in a long flowy dress in the same colour as hers.
‘What is going on?’ Ginny demanded as Victorie was adding curls to her hair.
‘Auntie Ginny, I can’t…’
‘Victorie Fleur Weasley, you tell me right now!’
‘Using my full name won’t do anything, Mum has done it so many times it doesn’t have the desired effect anymore. Please just go with it’
‘You look pretty, Mum’ Lily beamed at her. Ginny smiled back and squeezed her daughter’s hand.
About half an hour later, Ginny was putting on some heels with her hair, make-up and dress on as James and Albus walked in suits, looking smart and handsome.
‘Woah, Mum, you look great’ said James and walked towards her.
‘Likewise, is someone going to tell me what is going on? Where is your father?’ Ginny replied and looked around as if Harry was going to pop in.
'We will take you to him’ James held out an arm and she took it. Albus also offered an arm and she placed her other arm through his.
‘Lead the way, Lils!’ Albus said. Lily nodded and jumped up. As they walked out of the room and outside Ginny gasped as she saw beautiful red and yellow flowers and fairy lights.
‘They are called daylilies. Pretty aren’t they?’ Victorie said and all Ginny could do was nod. They headed towards the garden of the villa where she stopped at what she saw. It was Harry in a suit, looking rather handsome as ever at forty.
'You know, emerald and daylilies are both themes of a twentieth anniversary,’ Victorie then said with a grin.
‘What? I don’t…’ Ginny became lost for words as Harry walked towards and both James and Albus stepped away.
‘Hey, Gin, you look beautiful’ Harry said and beamed at her.
‘What is going on?’ she asked, a little confused then gasped when he bent down on one knee.
‘Will you marry me…. Again?’ he asked as he looked up at her.
‘Yes, of course I will, you idiot, but who is going to marry us?’ she replied.
‘That is where I come in’ Teddy came up to them and pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket ‘as of two hours ago, I am officially ordained by the power of the internet’
‘I wanted to be ordained too but Teddy didn’t approve of me lying of my age because in the eyes of the muggles, I’m not an adult yet’ James added and rolled his eyes.
‘You aren’t an adult either way!’ Albus laughed and dodged as James went to hit him.
And just like that, after twenty years married, three children and a Godson, Harry and Ginny Potter redid their vows during a beautiful Portuguese sunset.
