Chu Minha dragging her feet back to the OBGY staff room. She has been sitting on the central garden for almost 30 minutes. Time to go back to reality. She hopes the family of patient Yeon Hojeong has already asleep or going home, basically just leave her alone. She is actually under Myung Eunwon’s care but that sly fox has been throwing her under the bus and she faces the wrath of the patient’s family just when her night shift started, hence she isolates herself in the central garden.
When she arrived in front of the staff room, she saw someone’s back facing the door. A back that is so familiar to her.
Yang Gyosunim? What is he doing here? Minha ponders to herself. Minha knocks twice and called him up
“Gyosunim, it’s Minha. Do you need anything?” She asked him as she enters the room
He turns around and, Minha immediately saw the plastic bag on his hand, and a few stacks of takeout boxes on the table.
“Ah, aniya, I just come here to give you this” he pointed at the stacked takeout boxes at the table.
“What is that, Gyosunim?”
“Samgyeopsal. You said you want meat” he said nonchalantly as he rummaging the plastic bag again. “Almost forgot this” he said as he pulled out a pack of lettuce and put it on top of the stacks.
Her memories floods back, it just 30 minutes ago, she been sitting, pondering about her bad luck of having such a cunning and incompetent colleague, when he called her and ask about dinner. Did he… buy me dinner?
“Are all of these for me?? It’s too much….” she added, still stunned by his surprises.
He chuckles seeing her reactions, “You said you want meat, you can share it if you want” he said as he patted her shoulder. “Don’t forget eat it while it’s hot” he added as he walks out of the room.
Minha stands there in front of the table for a few minutes. Mesmerized by the stacks of boxes in front of her. She started to took out the pile and align the boxes on the table. There are five boxes in total, filled with meat and kimchi fried rice and kimchi, and other banchan. He really bought this all for me? Minha felt her inside turns upside down and her body feels warm. He must really like me; she thinks to herself as she sighs happily.
“Omo… when did you order food?” Nurse Han Seojeong who just walks into the room saw Minha sitting there with boxes of take-out food.

“Seriously, when did you order the food? We were so hectic back then” Nurse Han mentioned it again after they finished eating. Minha was cleaning up the boxes and the table. She laughs to cover up her tension, and said “I ordered it while I was moping on the central garden. I feel so hangry back then, hehe” She added
“Did your account matured? You ordered a lot of meat” Nurse Han added again, curiosity in her tone.
“Ah… ani…. I’m just… planning to eat my feeling I guess, hehe” she added the laugh and the self-deprecating jokes to cover her awkwardness.
“Ah…’ Nurse Han nodded as she wipes the table. Minha let out a slow breath of relief.

1.5 months later
Chu Minha just finished taking a quick shower after an emergency surgery with Prof. Yeom Seohee. Thank God today is her night shift again, so she can monitor on the patient’s condition through the night. She is just about to enter the nurse station when she found out that her colleagues are somehow all inside the staff room. She can hear their muffled voices. They’re pretty loud, so her curiosity got her and she goes into the room. Upon opening the door, she was greeted by her colleague’s loud noise and her boyfriend’s familiar back.
“Chu Minha Seonsaeng! Just in time, Yang Seokheyong Gyosunim bought us some pizza!” Nurse Song called her upon seeing her going into the staff room.
“Oh, annyeonghaseo Gyosunim” Minha bowed and greeted her superior, “What are the occasion?” she asked as she approach the table.
“Annyeong, ah, ani, I just want to treat you guys, you’ve been working hard” he said
Minha looked down at the arrays of food laid out on the table. She notices there’s 2 boxes of large pizza, 3 boxes of pasta, and 2 boxes of dessert there. Definitely too much food for 5 people that manning the graveyard shift tonight. Minha’s mouth turns into her signature O shapes, as she gazes upon the boxes of food.
“Daebak isn’t it Chu Minha Seonsaeng?” Resident Seo Yoonhee said to her. She nodded herself while stealing glances at her boyfriend who beamed at her.
“Please enjoy it” he said
“Kamsahamida, Gyosunim” the group cheered in unison and started opening the boxes of food.
“Oh?? Isn’t it the new flavor?” Nurse Song asked as she opened the first box of pizza
“Ooooohhhh!” Minha exclaimed. “They’ve been raving about it on SNS! I’ve been waiting to try this!” she exclaimed.
“I know, that’s why I ordered it” suddenly Yang Seokhyeong answered.
Minha immediately freezes. From the tail of her eyes, she sees her boyfriend also freezes, upon realizing his mistakes. It’s like someone suddenly pressed a mute button inside the OBGY staff rooms. The whole team stopped their activity and stopped talking, instead they all looked up at the professor and the head resident with a questioning look.
“I…. also know that the new flavour are quite popular on SNS….. I know a lot of you will be curious about it, so I ordered it” He explains rapidly. “Okay, enjoy the food” he said quickly and immediately left the room, doesn’t even spare a look at Minha.
The rest of the team looked at the door and then back at Minha.
“You’ve seen this also on their SNS, right? Let’s try it!” she tries to covers the awkwardness while dragging intern Baek’s arm to grab a slice. Slowly, the rest of the group started to grab some food too. Secretly, Minha let out an exhale.

It is 2:00 am and the OBGY station is very quiet. Some of the staffs are taking a nap, only Nurse Song and resident Seo in the station. Chu Minha was alone in the staff room, working on her thesis, when her phone rang.
“Oppa, why aren’t you asleep?” she asked upon answering her phone. Her boyfriend should have been at home since few hours ago.
“Ah, I can’t sleep if I don’t hear your voice” he answered back from the other line.
“Ah, mwoya….” She answered while feeling her cheeks getting warmer. “Opaa, that was close, you almost blew it earlier” Minha said as she turns her chair, so now she can see the door clearly, ready to cut the conversation if someone’s coming in.
He laughs softly on the other line. “How is it? Do you like it?” he asked slowly, his voice laced with sleepiness. Minha can imagine him, in his bed, on his side, he always slept on his right side, his right hand probably under his cheek, as his left hand probably holding the phone.
“Yes, it is really good! Did you really know that I was curious about the new menu?” she asked him.
“Hmm. You talked about it, last weekend” he said, still sounding sleepy.
Minha recalls their weekend date. Nothing special. They hang out at her place like the usual. They watched the new movie on Netflix. And then she remembers, it was before they decided what movie they want to watch. Minha just told him to pick anything while she lies on his lap, looking through her SNS. She found the pizza’s restaurant updates, with the new menu promotion. She looks up to him and spoke
“Oppa, this one look good, let’s try it sometimes” she said as she holds up her phone to his face.
He moved his sight from her TV to her phone, nodded, and said “Okay, let’s try it sometimes”
“You remember that?” she asked, a smile crept up to her lips.
“Hmmh” he answered, his breathing getting slower and slower.
“Oppa, let’s try it again, I want to try it with you” she said softly.
“Hmmh, arasso” he said, now very very quietly.
Minha chuckles, “Arasso, you need to sleep now, I’ll talk to you later”
“Shiro…. Want to hear your voices…. Stay…” he mumbles, very much already half asleep at this point.
“Ne…” Minha said softly, still smiling to herself, listening to his breathing gradually slowing down. Minha stayed on the line until she hears his soft snores, before hanging up the call.
