Foggy:
Their meeting with Mr. McCormic went pretty well, his landlord was being a total douche yadda yadda yadda. The second meeting was just some more helping out civilians kinda stuff, ya know, the regular. Foggy didn’t really pay attention because he was still, and probably would always be, thinking about what Karen had said just a few hours ago. Matt Murdock was crushing on him!? This wasn’t just some stupid college (and law partner) unrequited crush, it was the real deal.
Matt was standing next to Foggy's desk reading over some case files, while Foggy was supposed to be working on something on his computer. What foggy was really doing was daydreaming about Matt Murdock and trying to not make it obvious.
“Fogs you good, you’re zoning out over there and i'm trying to tell you all about these super interesting, not boring at all case files.” he joked.
Matt smiled. If Foggy wasn’t already hot and bothered he definitely was now.
“Oh- uh yeah, I'm fine.”
Matt did that little tilt thing with his head. Foggy wondered if the man was purposefully trying to send him into cardiac arrest.
“Alright dude whatever you say.”
The rest of their day went on like this, just working and the occasional glance across the room to look at Matt through his open office door when he should've been hard at work, like Matt was. Foggy would occasionally look down and read something or email someone, just so Matt wouldn’t be wondering why there wasn’t more typing happening. Foggy was trying to plan out how he would ask Matt out, and he had to make sure it wasn’t like a buddy to buddy going out drinking kinda thing. This had to be a real date like real adults and not just some guys who work together and occasionally look at each other's asses (even though Matt couldn't even look at Foggy's ass, Foggy knew he had to be thinking about it or something). He had to make it perfectly clear he was asking Matt out on a real, goodnight kiss, kind of date.
Matt:
Foggy had been weird all day, weirder than usual. Throughout their meetings Foggy just stared off blankly only adding comment every once in a while, letting Matt do most of the work, which Matt didn’t mind since he wanted to make up for being a half an hour late to this morning. Matt was wondering what he was thinking about that got him so flustered. All day his heart and breathing would be faster than usual occasionally, but Matt didn’t mind, he liked listening to Foggy’s breathing: it helped him focus. Matt was wondering if Foggy would ever actually feel the way that he does, how he gets super happy when Foggy calls him “sunshine” of “Matty”, the beat Matt's heart skips when Foggy laughs or grabs his shoulder, or even how he feels when they’re just sitting next to each other not talking. Matt has felt this way since college, which is a very long time to feel something like a crush. Matt really started to fall when they interned at L&Z, with their tiny office and plastic dinosaurs. It was so miserable but Foggy just made every bad thing worth it, so Matt could care less about their broom closet office, or now, pies instead of money.
Matt and foggy were walking home from work, just a half a block from where they usually separated to go to their respective apartments. Foggy's heart was spreading up 60 beats faster than usual.
“Hey Matty?”
“Yeah what’s up Foggy?”
“I was wondering if you wanted to go to this new Italian place with me?”
“Yeah sure buddy, is it any good?”
“Um yeah but just to be clear I mean like GO go.”
Matt laughed.
“Yeah I’ll GO go with you.”
“Like…”
“Yeah Fogs?” Matt continues giggling, he had no idea what point Foggy was trying to make.
“Like on a… Like on a date.”
Matt had stopped giggling, and walking, he had now realized that Foggy was absolutely scared shitless and that the speed of his heart was completely on par for what he was asking. Matt’s heart also had just sped up 60 beats, and he was now also scared shitless. Matt realized what this all meant super quickly, Foggy Nelson was asking him out on a real date. The love of his life and best friend just asked him to go eat at a new Italian place as a date! Hell yes, and no way that after all this time Foggy had felt the same what he had. Lord how was he so stuipid. For a man with super abilities he was really fucking clueless about how Foggy Nelson felt.
“Yeah.” Matt replied, very startled.
“Yeah Fogs i'll go on a date with you. Hell yeah I will.”
“Okay good cause I would actually run away if you said no, and I'm not someone you would usually find jogging the streets of Hell’s Kitchen.”
Matt Grabbed Foggy’s hand when they began walking again. They walked along Hand in Hand until they had to head their separate ways. Foggy kissed Matt on the cheek right before he walked away. Matt was not prepared for that but it was the best thing that’s happened to him since he met Foggy. Matt Murdock would be going on a date with Foggy Nelson. Matt couldn’t stop smiling for lord knows how long.
