Summary
It all starts with Eddie having a terrible month, missing his uncle on a sad and lonely Christmas Eve, and a card sent on a whim to a stranger now living in his childhood home.
Somehow, it ends with Eddie spending New Year's in the arms of Steve, the unbelievably sweet man who received his card and made it his mission to find Eddie via the power of the internet.
In the middle of it all, the winter holidays come and go, but the story isn't about that; it's about life that keeps on going between the cracks of holiday cheer. It's a story of texting for miles, processing grief, accepting kindness, attempting self-growth, falling in love so hard and fast it feels almost impossible, and a very cute emotional support cat.Bookmarked by WanderLustshipper

Summary
But then something shifted. It was like a switch had flipped all at once. At least from Steve's perspective. Really it was more of a frog in the pot, boiling over time. But to Steve, it was near instantaneous.
All of a sudden he was too old for any of it. His Mom pushed him away when he tried to cling to her at the grocery store. His Dad huffed and told him he couldn't hold his hand anymore, that it was childish, odd.
+ + +
A drabble of a fic in which Steve is touch-starved yet touch-adverse, leaving Robin and Eddie to slowly help Steve acclimate to human contact once more. A bit of a Steve character exploration fic with heaps of Platonic Stobin and side-Steddie.

Summary
No response at all this time, even though Steve is close enough to see Dustin's face in profile- red eyes, lips pinched tight so they won't tremble. Trying so hard to be blank, in a way Steve knows far too well, even if Dustin isn't very good at it. He sighs and adds, "...He wouldn't want you to keep doing this, either."
It's low, Steve knows it, and Dustin's brows pinch together even as he still keeps his eyes trained on the tree trunk. "You don't know that." It's sullen, like Dustin knows how unreasonable it is but doesn't care. Stubborn, like always. "Maybe he likes the company."
[Something fractured in Steve and Dustin's friendship after they lost Eddie. Maybe Steve can fix it.]

Summary
Getting dumped two weeks before Christmas wasn’t exactly on Steve’s wishlist, but such is life. Now he’s joining Robin on her return to Hawkins. It's not exactly ideal, but maybe he’ll get to live out the plot of one of those sappy Christmas romcoms now.
---
“You’re all happy. Did you already meet a hot widow with two kids?”
“I don’t think he’s a widow.” Steve says, eyes trained on the road. “And I don’t think he’s got any kids either.”
Robin shrieks beside him. “But there is a him?”
“I– sorta, yeah. I went to get coffee before I came here and the barista was like, crazy hot and I gave him my number.”

Summary
Hooded eyes fell on Steve's bare form—fair, smooth, freckles and moles dotted, vulnerable—and something wild, heated unfolded in them.
Against Steve's volition, he squirmed beneath the shameless staring. He had nowhere to hide, feeling his nipples pebble while his stomach coiled with humiliation. Pointless as it might be, he still tried to squeeze his thighs together, hoping to soothe the longing ache down there.
Eddie smiled, wolfish.
"Caught ya."
