Deku: the Great Deku Tree

Chapter 2

Summary:

I’ve decided to write this story in a non-linear sort of way. The details will tie together but it won’t be told in any specific order.

Due to that, the chapters will be short compared to the lengths I usually write them at.

Chapter Text

The odds were stacked in the favor of the villains. They had caught the students and teachers unaware. With no way of calling for backup and no way to escape.

They were destined to win, is what they were told.

Shigaraki was currently being dragged beneath the ground, screeching, while Kurogiri was entangled in the thick limbs of trees that had sprouted out of nowhere.

The two leaders of this endeavor were being attacked by plant-life and the rest of the villains were no exception.

“Midoriya-kun.” Aizawa looked at Mic’s problem child. “I had not yet given permission to use your quirks.” He sighed.

“Oops.” Midoriya said flatly. “I got too overzealous.”

A screech echoed, followed by a sharp snap sound that had all the hero students cringing away from the general-studies kid.

Class-C didn’t bat an eye at the situation. Instead a few of them grumbled and passed around yen to a lavender haired teen.

“Told you.” The teen snickered amongst the grumbles of his classmates.

“Release them please, we need them intact for questioning.” Shouta turned and began to walk towards the leaders, avoiding any sort of vegetation out of habit.

It was best not to step on any plant life near Midoriya.

By the time he made it to the clear leaders of the raid, the trees had loosened their holds and instead of actively strangling them, they were merely holding them in place. The rough bark no doubt uncomfortable, but Aizawa couldn’t care less. They’d come with the intent to kill. If this child wanted to be vindictive he’d let him.

“You and the rest of you are hereby under arrest for invading a school with the intent to kill. Due to that, I will now read you your rights and what will happen to you when the police arrive.” Shouta began to drone on, calling upon his memory of the usual speech.

He failed to notice Kurogiri’s escape. Only when violent purple flashed before him did he notice that the warping villain had taken Shigaraki and run. They’d left the rest of the scum however.

The trees grew rigid and he could almost hear the howls of rage from the plant life as they began to constrict their remaining prisoners.

“Try to keep them alive.” He called out to the entrance of the facility.

The trees didn’t loosen, but their rough bark softened just a tad.

It would have to do.

Notes:

After receiving a multitude of requests, I have begun writing a second chapter to this. I’m not sure if I want to turn this into a complete fic or keep it as semi isolated events. Who knows!
