Chapter Text
As Tommy was warming up for the game he would look around the stadium. He was so excited his dad finally decided to come to a game.
“Tom, you're out of focus, get in the game.” Eryn, his teammate said as he ran past Tommy, who still looked around the stadium. They were five mins away from starting and the team was getting ready to play.
What if Phil never came. Maybe he forgot. Or maybe he’s late, Tommy said as he shook off the bad feelings and ran over to his team. His team huddled together as they started to pray.
After prayer Tommy checked the stands. No sign of Phil. After breaking it down, he checked the stands, no sign of him. Tommy still told himself that he was running late. Tommy sat in his defense line yelling at his teammates to move up or to attack the ball.
Ten minutes, no sign of Phil, thirty minutes, no sign of Phil, halftime, no sign of Phil. It was 1-0, the other team was winning. Now soccer for Lovejoy High School was the best sport so the stands were always filled even at away games. So when they saw that Tommy was going up top the crowd erupted with cheers. His coach had put him as a forward to win.
Tommy finally gave up as he walked on the field for the second half. Eryn who was put up top with him pat him on the back as he ran past. Tommy had told Eryn, Ranboo, and Tubbo about his dad coming and they all had noticed he never came.
The start of the second half eryn and Tommy did a beautiful combination of a 1-2 which is Tommy passing it to Eryn then making a run and Eryn passing it to him. Tommy once he was in the box took his shot and immediately scored. With 35:43 minutes still on the clock Tommy with the help of Eryn had tied it up 1-1.
At the very end of the game with 10 mins left there was a corner kick which Tubbo was taking. After Tommy’s first goal he had had at least two players on him for the rest of the game which left Eryn wide open to header the ball in. Making the final goal of the game. 2-1 Lovejoy soccer had won again, their perfect score streak still going.
After the game Tommy caught a ride with Eryn. Eryn was his next door neighbor so Eryn took him home most of the time since Phil had never gotten Tommy a car.
“Bye Eryn.” Tommy said getting out of the car as Eryn pulled into his driveway. “Bye Tom. Hey you can always ride with me in the mornings so you don’t have to ride the bus.” Eryn offered, knowing Tommy hated the bus. “Really?” Tommy asked, kinda surprised Eryn offered it. “I mean yea we’re next door neighbors. It’s not like I’m wasting gas.” “O-ok. What time will you leave?” “Um. Around 7:30 you can just walk into my house when you're ready. Mum and Dad won’t be home.” “Ok.” Tommy said, walking over to his house and opening the garage.
“Suprise!” Yelled someone as the garage door opened. Inside the garage sat a Ford Mustang with Phil holdi mg the Keys. “What do you think?” He asked smiling like a little kid on there birthday.
“I uh- it’s nice.” Tommy said unsure of what to think. “Well I remembered earlier this morning that you don’t have a car so I decided to go buy you one.” Phil said, handing Tommy the car keys. Tommy took them opening up the car. Tommy didn’t even have his driver license, what was he supposed to do?
“Thanks.” Tommy said sitting down in the car but before he could say anything else Phil got a phone call. “I hope you like it but I’ve got to take this call.” Phil said as he started to walk inside.
Tommy sighed as he got out of his car. Maybe he could ask coach to take him to get his licenses. Tommy had already taken drivers Ed all he had to do was go to the place and get his licenses. He already had everything he needed to get it like his
social security number and more because of all the times he had gone to the doctor without Phil cause Phil was busy.
Tommy just decided to ask Eryn about his opinion in the morning and for now he would just go to his room and work on a new painting. This time Tommy just sketched out a boy laying on the beach in the dark. The boy was tired and all he wanted to do was lay down and watch the stars slowly drift away.
Once Tommy finished the sketch he added some color to know what colors of spray paint he was gonna need for school tomorrow. Then he finally went to bed thinking about how he was gonna get out the house without Phil noticing him. Tommy didn’t want Phil to feel bad about not taking him to get his license so Tommy just was gonna try and stay quiet and avoid him until he had it.
