Tav is a changeling who has a complicated (and unhealthy) relationship with their identity. They are desperate to keep being Tav even when the name no longer fits; even as it slowely eats away at them. Their facade is prone to slip around a certain campmate escpecially.

But said paladin immediately frowns, “Categorically not when I’m asleep. If I’m losing blood I want to be conscious and consenting.” Astarion doesn’t get why he wouldn’t take the easier option, but then he notices a pink flush creeping up Revenant’s neck and ears… and it occurs to him that maybe he’s misread the situation. The stilted-ness isn’t unhappiness, it’s fluster.
Revenant also knows he’s flustered, and exhales in short, sharp annoyance. He squares his shoulders and continues in a forcibly stern tone, “My proposition is - that I’ll let you bite me, but I want to bite you back.”
It’s Astarion’s turn to be caught off guard, “Excuse me?”

(Or: a self-appointed vengeful ghost meets a vampire spawn, and reluctant sparks fly. Loosely follows the BG3 plot with canon divergence to keep it interesting. Astarion/Tav, but they’re both terrible at romance.)

Summary

And yet, he's picked to be the leader of a rag tag group without anyone actually saying so out loud. He doesn't want to be the leader. He doesn't know what he wants. He feels stuck in a limbo between his empty past that compels him forward and a future that fights against him.
Oh. And apparently he's a paladin that can't remember what his oath is or even who he's sworn to. So there's that too.

Summary
At the end of Advent Children Cloud is offered a choice that he won't remember but that will change the destiny of two timelines. One will go forward without him, free of Sephiroth and JENOVA's corruption. And the other? Well. He's going to do his best to save everyone in this timeline, too, and he's going to do it while parenting three itty bitty little Sephiroth Remnants.
Otherwise known as the one where Cloud, disoriented from being resurrected in the past, kills a Shinra scientist by accident and sets off a chain reaction of events that may well bring Shinra to it's knees.
An ensemble cast, multiple POV, multiple story-line fic featuring:
⭐Found-family shenanigans as Cloud takes the itty bitty baby (~8 year old) remnants on the run from Shinra while being completely oblivious to the chaos he has wrought.
⭐Genesis and Sephiroth and Hojo and the super fun and not at all traumatic search for a cure for degradation.
⭐Angeal's amazing disappearing sword trick.
⭐The Turks being Turks, i.e: A Threat to Absolutely Everyone.Apologies, this is still on hiatus. I promise I haven't abandoned it though!
