Turning a Blind Eye

Summary:

Ochako finds herself simultaneously having a crush on both Bakugou and Deku.

or; the one where Ochako thinks Bakugou and Midoriya are fighting over her.

~

-After shooting off a quick text and smiling down at his phone, the green-haired boy turned the device off and looked at Uraraka. She did not like the way he was smiling at his phone. "You sure it's not a girlfriend?" she quizzed him hoping she came off unbothered. She liked the boy but she didn't want to be too clingy.

"Oh, gosh no, definitely not a girlfriend," if anything the boy's smile widened, mirth dancing in his eyes. Almost like he had a secret. Uraraka narrowed her eyes suspiciously. Midoriya had no reason to lie to her but he wasn't telling her the whole truth. She chose to ignore it for now though. As long as the boy didn't have a girlfriend she could work with anything else he was to throw at her.

"Don't think your off the hook mister," Ochako said, still upset about the mystery texts. Midoriya just laughed.-

Notes:

This is my first fic(that I've ever finished and posted) and so I'm open to all criticism.

Now, this isn't an "Uraraka Bashing' fanfic. She's just a bit misguided and self-centered. That being said you're still free to hate on her in the comments, I actually encourage it. Some of the shit you guys come up with is honestly hilarious.

Chapter 1: Mei Hatsume and the tracker recording device thingies(because I have such a way with words)

Chapter Text

Ochako remembers when Deku saved her from that one-pointer from the entrance exam quite clearly. She remembered thinking that he would be a great hero one day, so she wasn't all too surprised when she realized she had a crush on the green-haired boy. He was cute and his hair was always messy. Not in the sexy bedhead way, but more like I just got electrocuted kind of way and if anything it made him impossibly cuter. So, no her crush on Deku wasn't much of a shock.

It was her crush on Bakugou.

He was almost the exact opposite of Midoriya. All hard lines, a permanent scowl, and a shitty attitude to boot. She had to admit that he was hot though. One would have to be deprived of all their senses not to notice how fine that man was.

She never thought Bakugou would ever give her the time of day, though, so she focused on her relationship with Midoriya, trying to get herself moved up to girlfriend. She just wished Bakugou wasn't so damn distracting.

All the girls- plus Koda- were having a sleepover in Mina's room.

"So guys, any crushes circling lately," Mina asked with a wiggle of her eyebrows, where she was bent over Jirou's toes painting them bright pink.

"Didn't Denki and Shinsou start dating recently?" Hagakure piped up from the bed flipping through Netflix trying to find a good show to watch. "Yeah," Mina sighed dramatically," but that's practically old news. They just started dating but they'd been pining for months."

"You right, you right," Jirou said nodding not taking her eyes up from off her phone. "Hearing Denki talk about how perfect Shinsou's eyes were or how deep his voice was. It made me want to strangle him," Jirou shrugged, still not looking up," More than usual at least."

Everyone laughed at Jirou and her bluntness. No wonder she and Bakugou got on so well.

Everyone seemed to break off into their own little conversations before Uraraka worked up the nerve to bring everyone's attention to her.

"Well, have a crush on someone," Uraraka supplied shyly. Mina's head snapped up so fast that Uraraka winced. She forgot how crazy Mina got with gossip. " Spill right now girl," Mina demanded, eyes shining with mischief.

"Well, okay, but promise not to tell anyone else," Uraraka said eyeing Mina suspiciously. "I don't want to hear anything from Kendo or Shiozaki. "Yeah, yeah," Mina said dismissively waving her hand back and forth half-heartedly, " What's said in this room stays in this room or whatever, now talk." Uraraka wasn't convinced but she had to get this off her chest." Oh alright then," she started dejectedly, " It's-"

"Wait, don't tell me it's Midoriya, ribbit!" Tsu exclaimed loudly eyes wide. If Uraraka wasn't so filled with dread she would find the green facial the other girl had on hilarious. Was she that obvious?!

Everyone must have been able to tell by her silence and rapidly rising blush that Tsu was right. All hell broke loose after that.

"Girl no!"

"What were you thinking?'

"You done set yourself up for heartbreak," that last one was Jirou, who finally looked up from her phone shaking her head softly at the brunette.

Uraraka was confused, she was embarrassed but mostly confused. She expected them to maybe poke fun at her crush or for them to start whispering and giggling about her and Midoriya having kids or something. She didn't expect this reaction at all. Was she missing something?

"Uh, did something happen with Midoriya? I'm confused why can't I like him?" Uraraka questioned.

"Girl," Mina was the first to speak up," you're telling me you haven't noticed?"

Uraraka had a feeling that whatever Mina was going to tell her she would not like.

Koda was sitting on the edge of Mina's bed wide-eyed supposedly talking to the white bunny he was currently petting. He looked around the room once, promptly got up, bowed his head, and then scurried out. It was probably too much drama for the shy boy. It all happened so quickly that no one had time to respond.  Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, Uraraka got up and quickly followed the quiet boy's example.

This time everyone called after her but she quickly ran for her dorm.

What she didn't know couldn't hurt her.

Uraraka was getting desperate. She wished she would just let one of the girls tell her what was up with Midoriya, but she couldn't bear the thought of him with another girl. He liked hanging out with Uraraka, they went out together(with the rest of the Dekusquad most of the time, but she chose to ignore that fact), they went on sort of dates, for christ's sake! Of course, he liked her. Maybe the girls wanted to tell her he wasn't looking for a relationship, but if she were to go up to him, he would say yes to dating her.

Or, at least, that's what she told herself.

So mixed in her desperation and her fear of someone else getting to Midoriya before her, that's how she found herself in front of Hatsume. She was honestly wary of the girl. Uraraka was pretty sure she was partly crazy and she was also sure the girl had a crush on Izuku. She was desperate though, and as much as she hated to admit it, she needed the other girl's help.

Sighing Uraraka cleared her throat.

Hatsume's head popped up from where she was leaning over some type of glove. Uraraka could she a mannequin off in the corner with what appeared to be a full-body suit of the same material. The fabric was a pretty shade of green with a black belt. She had to admit the girl had talent.

"Oh, who do we have here?" the girl exclaimed excitedly. "I forgot your name, I'm horrible at names really, but I've seen you with Izuku haven't I?"

Uraraka bristled. She didn't like the other girl talking about her Izuku.

"Pro-," Uraraka started but was cut off by the girl.

"That doesn't matter, but I know you probably came to check out my babies for one reason or another, you hero course students are all the same," the girl was talking a mile a minute and didn't seem to be coming up for air. Uraraka was annoyed. "All work, work, work no fun. At least I can enjoy making my babies!"

Uraraka rolled her eyes. This was getting old fast.

"Look Hatsume, I just wanted to know if you had any form of tracking device?" Uraraka said cutting to chase. This girl was getting on her nerves.

"Yeah, I should have a couple around here," the pink-haired girl replied already looking around the workspace for what Uraraka hoped was the tracking device. Hatsume was known to get side-tracked, very easily. "Whatcha needs 'em for," she called half-heartedly over her shoulder looking in some cabinets.

"Well, My quirk allows me to float things and I wanted to see how much weight I could lift and how high. My quirk isn't the best for combat so I need points where I can get them, you know?" Uraraka gave herself a mental pat on the back. She was glad she came up with an excuse beforehand and it wasn't technically a lie. If Hatsume gave her more than one, she would use it for training.

After a few minutes of Hatsume looking around, a mini-explosion, and a pair of singed bangs later, the girl finally resurfaced. She helped up three tiny rectangular devices and a much bigger object that almost looked like a phone.

"So, these here are the tracking devices," the overenergetic girl started. "And this here," she held up to the phone-like device," is what will tell you the distance and all that jazz." Uraraka nodded. Before Uraraka could reach forward and grab the objects out of the other girl's hand she began speaking again.

"Now, as you can see there are three actual trackers," Uraraka nodded again with a small sigh, she wanted this to be over and done with." That's because Shinso I think his name was? Anyways purple boy has one and the backup device, he said to test how far his new fancy scarf can go."

"Okay, that's interesting and all," not really, " but what does that have to do with anything?" She was getting impatient.

"Oh, yeah!" Uraraka rolled her eyes. " So as I said coffee boy has the other tracker and the, you know, thing to read the distance of what you're tracking. You wouldn't want to read the records of Shisui's, or whatever purple boy's name is. The way I have it set up is to avoid confusion if more than one person wants to use it, basically, you just have to tap the tracking devices to the tracker that you want to record your data. I've already done that part, just make sure they don't come into contact with eye bag boy's recording device okay?" Hatsume seemed to stream that all out in one breath and Uraraka wasn't sure she understood the girl completely, but she wanted to get out of there.

Nodding slightly she reached forward to grab the items. Before she was completely out the door she turned back. " Oh and Hatsume?"

"Hm?"

"These will stick to anything right?"

"Just about, they just won't stick to silk for some reason," the girl shrugged, "I'll probably work on that another day."

Uraraka just walked out without giving any response. She did not like the pink-haired girl.

Hatsume pushed her-now singed- bangs back into a headband and then went back to her glove. What a strange girl.

"Hey, Deku-kun!"

"Huh?" Deku looked up from his phone. "Oh, hi Ochako," he smiled at the girl then went back to his phone. He seemed to be texting someone.

"Who ya texting?" Uraraka said slightly suspicious, plopping down on the couch next to the boy.

"Oh no one important," he said nonchalantly dismissing the question. Uraraka frowned, maybe he was texting another girl. " Sure doesn't look like just anyone, Deku-kun."

After shooting off a quick text and smiling down at his phone, the green-haired boy turned the device off and looked at Uraraka.

Midoriya just laughed.

They talked for about half an hour but then Midoriya checked the time on his phone and quickly popped up. " So sorry, Ochako-san!"

Ochako was startled at the sudden movement. " What's wrong Deku?"

"I'm meeting up with someone and I need to go change if I'm gonna be there on time, sorry!"

"Wait, Deku."

Midoriya paused from where he was heading for the stairs to go up to his dorm. "Yes, Ochako-san?"

Ochako quickly skipped up to Midoriya and gave him a quick hug and a pat on the back. "Have fun!"

Midoriya smiled and ran off to the stairs.

Once he was out of sight Ochako frowned. Who could Midoriya possibly be meeting? Was it the person he was texting? Maybe it was a date with some girl. Maybe it was his girlfriend.

Uraraka found her frown deepening with each possibility that she thought of.

About five minutes later Midoriya ran down the stairs and to the door not even sparing her a glance. It was then that Ochako realized that he had on a hoodie and had changed his pants. She hoped he kept on the same shirt he had on earlier. She wanted to see who he was meeting up with.

She sighed as she pulled out the tracker Hatsume gave her. She hoped the stupid thing worked.

"Kacchan!"

Bakugou looked up from his phone. He was sitting on one of the benches outside the dorms. Bakugou smiled slightly.

"Nerd," he nodded at the green-haired boy before getting up and stretching.

"I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long," Midoriya started sheepishly, "I got caught up talking to Uraraka."

Bakugou mumbled something about 'fucking pink cheeks' under his breath and then sighed. "It's fine nerd, let's get moving, you know that if we don't show up on time Akari-sama's gonna try to stuff us full of food," Bakugou said already starting to walk towards the gate.

"You say that like it's a bad thing Kacchan, I could eat a horse!"

"Whatever nerd let's go that old hag is scary when she's angry."

"Aww, Kacchan you know you love her," Izuku said, cooing at his boyfriend. Bakugou just grumbled and sped up. Izuku laughed as he jogged to catch up with the blond boy.

"Oh, Kacchan, do you have the permission slip from Aizawa-Sensei?"

"Right here nerd," the older boy said, patting his back pocket.

"Well then, what are we waiting for?" Bakugou barely had time to register a blur of green speeding past him. He just chuckled and kept on walking. The nerd would slow down eventually.

Uraraka could kiss Hatsume. Okay, she still didn't like the girl and was pretty sure she was trying to steal her Izuku. But she had to admit this tracker was genius. A button on it even turned it into a sort of GPS. It showed you where the object you were tracking is and where it goes if it moving and it also shows you how far you are from the object. Right now Izuku was bout 5 minutes away but he seemed to be heading for the train station so she needed to get going if she was going to catch up to him.

"Hey, Ochako," Uraraka looked up to see Asui walking past towards the kitchen.

"Oh, hello Tsu," Uraraka bounced on the balls of her feet. She needed to get going if she was going to catch up to Izuku on time.

"A few of us were going out later today we wanted to know if you were going to join us, kero."

"Um yeah, sure whatever," Uraraka started already heading for the stairs," sorry Tsu but I have to get going."

"That's fine," Tsuyu began to say, " Where are you-?" Before the green-haired girl could finish her sentence, Ochako had already reached the elevator heading for her dorm.  Tsu just shrugged continuing her trek to the fridge to get something to drink. She'll just text Ochako the details later.

Ochako was relieved when she spotted Midoriya in the distance sitting on a bench waiting to catch his train. She was just beginning to relax after fearing that she would never find the boy in the busy, crowded train station when she suddenly realized two very important details. One, she didn't know where Midoriya was going, two, if she didn't know where he was headed she couldn't buy a ticket in time and join him on that journey.

Racking her brain, she didn't notice Bakugou approaching the younger boy, two drinks in hand.

~

"Oi, nerd," Bakugou said to gain Izuku's attention, "Here's that sugary shit you like." The blond boy handed him a cup of coffee full of cream and sugar. He wrinkled his nose in disgust when his boyfriend took a sip sighing happily. He would stick to his black coffee with one sugar, thank you very much.

"Thank You so much Kacchan!"

"Yeah, yeah nerd, now scoot over so I can sit down my feet feel like shit."

Uraraka was, not completely, surprised when she saw Bakugou and Midoriya sitting together. Bakugou seemed grumpy as usual eyes close, cheek pressed up against the glass, headphones in. Midoriya, on the other hand, seemed calm and he had out a book that Uraraka was pretty sure she had seen him reading from time to time the past week. She remeber Midoriya telling the class one time that he and Bakugou were sort of childhood friends. They probably lived in the same neighborhood and just so happened to be visiting at the same time.

Uraraka quickly walked past them head turned slightly to the opposite side of where the two were sitting. She wished she had worn a hoodie or at least brought a hat. Midoriya didn't seem to notice, and Bakugou's eyes were still closed, so she assumed she wasn't caught. She didn't have an excuse as to why she was visiting the same place as them. She lived in Mei prefecture and she knew that Midoriya knew that as well. She remembered Midoriya saying that he and Bakugou lived pretty close by and it took her a while to find the nearest train station to his neighborhood.

Pulling out one of the magazines she bought for the trip, Uraraka settled down getting comfortable.

~

Uraraka was pretty engrossed in her gossip magazine, some sidekick hero had a sex tape released and their favor seemed to be skyrocketing. Everybody was wondering if it was staged and nobody could get a response from the hero. Thoroughly distracted by what everyone was saying about the sex tape, she barely noticed the movement in front of her. She glanced up halfheartedly, only to do a double-take when she realized that it was Bakugou who was getting up and he was heading her way!  Ducking her head into her magazine(her face was now extremely close to said sidekicks censored boobs) she tried to pretend like she was simultaneously reading her magazine and searching for something in the bag at her feet hoping Bakugou wouldn't spare her a second glance. She felt more than saw the blond walk past her. After counting to ten mentally, she finally sighed and sat up, that was a close one!

She went back to her magazine it was a small-time hero that she had hooked up with. Nobody knew who had released it yet, but he seemed more open to questioning and he even admitted that they did record themselves so it wasn't someone else who sent out the video.

She was so into reading about the latest scandal that she didn't realize that Bakugou had walked back down the aisle. She also failed to notice that he looked right at her as he turned to go back to his seat.

"Nerd," Bakugou grunted softly. Midoriya glanced up from his phone and moved his legs to the side so Katsuki could get to his seat. He had finally finished his book and he was a bit frustrated, it had ended on a cliffhanger and the next book wasn't scheduled to be released for another three months.

"I saw pinky back there," Bakugou said non-committedly, although his eyes narrowed slightly. He didn't like the looks she had been giving Izuku lately.

"Huh?" Izuku was startled a bit. He didn't remember her saying she was going out as well, and why hadn't she stopped to say hello or maybe even sit with them.

"You know, floaty, pink cheeks, knock off Kirby," homewrecker, he added to himself in his head.

"No, yeah I knew you meant Ochako I just don't know why she'd be here. She hasn't even said hi or anything. It's a bit suspicious."

"Maybe she didn't want you to know she was here," Bakugou responded, shrugging his shoulder. He couldn't care less about her.

"Well, duh, but why is what I want to," Midoriya said rolling his eyes, his boyfriend was no help sometimes, honestly. " Maybe she just didn't see us? I think I'll go say hi to her. "

Before Midoriya could get up and go talk to his friend, Katsuki stopped him.

"Maybe she just doesn't want to talk to you," Please don't go, " I mean we were one of the first people aboard," please don't go, " She probably saw us, so maybe you should just let her be," please, please don't go.

"I guess," Izuku said frowning slightly. The green-haired boy glanced at his boyfriend out of the corner of his eye. His frown deepened before his face broke out into a huge grin. "Look at you caring about what others want, you're so sweet sometimes Kacchan," Midoriya exclaimed leaning over to hug his boyfriend.

"I don't care about what she wants!" Although he will never admit it out loud, Bakugou Katsuki pouted.

"Well then if it's not out of the goodness of your heart," Bakugou glared. He didn't have a heart, thank you very much. He wasn't into that soft shit. "Kacchan, are you jealous perhaps?"

Said boy spluttered. " I'm not jealous!"

"Oh my gosh!" Midoriya gushed, " You are jealous Kacchan!" He glared again. "Kacchan it's fine if you're jealous, but you have nothing to worry about. I don't like Ochako-san that way," Izuku's smile was still too big for Bakugou's liking(and his fragile ego), but he just grumbled and slouched down in his chair, arms crossed.

"Whatever nerd, but I'm still not jealous!"

Midoriya just laughed.

Golden eyes snapped up towards the door when the bell jingled.

"Akari-san, we're here!"

Said lady smiled. She missed her brats. " Ah yeas, Izuku I've missed you my little green bean," Izuku beamed as she hugged him. "How have you been dear, and how's Inko?" She tucked a strand of blonde hair, that had escaped from her bun, behind her ear. " she wasn't there the last time I visited Mitsuki."

"Well I'm good as always, schools could be better but that's a given," Izuku grinned sheepishly. "And mama's okay, she's stopped calling me every night to make sure I haven't died so that's a good thing." Akari laughed.

"Inko was always the worrier." Izuku nodded and finally stepped back out of the hug and glanced behind him toward Katsuki.

Said boy had his hands in his pockets and look bored.

"Well?" Akari inquired towards the boy, eyebrow raised.

"Well?" Bakugou asked right back, raising his eyebrow as well. Izuku will always find how similar they look amusing.

"Stop being disrespectful you little brat," Akari-san growled out before smiling," Now get your ass over here and hug your auntie, you little shit," Bakugou grumbled slightly and walked slowly, but he complied nonetheless. Akari gave him a big hug and laughed rocking them from side to side. " Love you!"

"...ou"

"What was that Katsuki dear?" She was enjoying this a bit too much in Katsuki's opinion.

"lo...ou."

"Sorry dear, I still can't quite hear you!"

"I said I love you damnit!" Katsuki growled as he pushed the woman away from himself, palms sparking. Akari glared at him and smacked him over the head.

"That's no way to speak to your aunt!" Katsuki glared right back.

"You hag!" He practically screamed. " Hit me again and-"

"You'll kill me, yeah yeah be quite you brat!" She smacked him upside the head again.

"I'm telling Mom!"

"Go on then tell her, crybaby!" She stuck her tongue out at him. Izuku laughed at that. One wouldn't believe Akari-san was the adult in this situation.

Katsuki and Akari crossed their arms at the same time both fuming. It was tense for a few moments before Katsuki grumbled something under his breath.

"What was that brat?" Akari said. "Speak up!"

"Hag!"

"Oh stop it and just speak!"

"I was asking if I could have some spicy ramen, I'm hungry!"

"Well, why didn't you start with that," Akari said smiling brightly, her previous anger disappearing in a flash," We finally got some of that ghost pepper seasoning you like so much."

Katsuki grinned wide. " Sweet!"

Most of the people at the restaurant were regulars and were used to the woman's antics and the few who were new customers quickly went back to their food and pretended that they weren't staring after a quick glare from Akari.

Bakugou smiled or smirked really( Izuku wasn't sure his boyfriend could smile without looking like he was dying), at his aunt as she set a bowl of spicy ramen down in front of him. Izuku beamed as well as a bowl of katsudon was placed in front of him. "Eat up, brats!" Izuku nodded and Katsuki just bent his head slightly to begin eating.

"Thank you Akari-san!" She smiled down at the green-haired boy, ruffling his hair a bit. She glanced between the two of them before shrugging and turning slightly towards the direction of the kitchen.

"Oi, Haruto!"

"Yeah!?"

"I'm going on break!"

"Alright!"

She beamed. "Alright then, boys look like you're stuck with me for the next fifteen minutes," she stated enthusiastically, bouncing on the balls of her feet slightly.

"I mean it's your restaurant, sure," Bakugou said around a mouthful of noodles.

"Oi brat, don't talk with food in your mouth!" Katsuki huffed. "I know for a fact your mother taught you better than that, I was there half the time!"

"Whatever hag."

Akari glared. "Shut up boy!" Bakugou scowled into his bowl. " And scoot down!"

Bakugou glared at her as he picked up his bowl and shimmied himself down, allowing his aunt to plop down directly in front of Izuku.

Katsuki tuned out the conversation, focusing on eating his noodles. This ghost pepper seasoning was the shit. He was going to have to thank Haruto later.

Notes:

So this was supposed to be a oneshot but like 4,000 words in I got a major writer's block so I'm going to break this into two(three at max) chapters. Although this Friday straight through until next week Thursday I have EOC and FSA testing so it may take me two weeks to get up another chapter.
