Chapter Text
Lia had always loved morning shifts, as they were alot calmer than afternoon and evening shifts, and also because she had more time to appreciate the atmosphere of the shop. This week a new reason had been added though.
A smile settles on her face as she sees said reason walk through the door. She watches as the elder takes out her earphones, puts them in her pocket, and when she looks back at Lia, her lips spread into a grin.
“Hello lovely Lia, how are you this friday morning?” Yeji says with her signature charming smile, resting her elbows on the counter.
“I was bored until you walked in.” Lia says honestly, making Yeji chuckle softly.
“Well I’d be honoured to relieve you of your boredom. A matcha latte again please.” Yeji says, smile only growing wider, and never looking away from the other’s eyes.
Lia chuckles as she turns around to start to make Yeji’s drink. She presses the buttons on the machine, turning around to talk to Yeji after.
“So you have your last test this afternoon right? Cramming in some last minute studying?” Lia asks, genuinely curious.
“Yes! I’m so glad it’s almost over, I hate pulling all nighters and studying. But yes last minute studying, this subject is hard.” Yeji exclaims excitedly and groans the last part.
Lia laughs again, loving how much the older talks and makes her laugh. They both hear the machine beep, signaling that it’s done with the drink. Lia turns around to grab the drink, but before giving it to Yeji, she adds a little cat as latte art on top. Smiling proudly at her work, she turns around again to give the drink to Yeji.
When the older reaches for her credit card Lia quickly stops her, telling her;
“It’s on the house. As it’s your final day!” Lia said giving Yeji her eye smile. Yeji smiled gratefully, walking towards her usual table. Lia’s manager wasn’t even surprised anymore to see Lia following the older to her table. They both sat down and Yeji immediately reached for her books, as usual.
“So what is the subject today?” Lia asks, putting her elbows on top of the table, leaning her face on her hands.
“Really? You want to talk about medicine school?” Yeji questioned with a raised eyebrow.
“I mean no? I just want to talk to you.” Lia said, a slight blush spreading across her cheeks, which made Yeji’s heart melt.
“Awwww did you miss me?” Yeji can’t resist teasing the younger, smile growing wider as she sees Lia blush a bit more.
“And what if I did?” Lia stated quite confidently, but the way she was looking at her hands said otherwise. Yeji found it adorable.
“Then I would have to find a solution to talk to you more….. Like perhaps my number.” Yeji said with a slight smirk, proud of herself for being so smooth.
Lia only whispered a “Yes please” before handing the older her phone, letting her type in her contact.
“I should text you so you have my number too wait !” Lia said grabbing her phone, slightly giggling as she saw Yeji had put her contact as hot coffee girl <3 in Lia’s phone. She sent a quick hey and put her phone down again.
“What should I pick for your contact name? I’m doubting between most beautiful girl and best latte artist.” Yeji said with a hand to her chin, pretending to think hard. Lia slapped her arm softly as she laughed, her eyes turning into crescents.
“I think most beautiful girl fits the most.” Yeji said with a wink. Lia, who just recovered from laughing, blushed again which made Yeji coo at her.
“Yah don’t say that!” Lia retorted weakly, still blushing heavily.
“But how can I when you’re so beautiful and cute all the time?” Yeji said in a baby voice, making grabby hands at Lia’s cheeks.
“Oh my god stop please.” Lia whined, burying her face in her arms to hide from Yeji.
The older chuckled as she opened her book. She started writing something in her notebook, and Lia looked up at her, admiring how effortlessly beautiful the older always looked while studying. Lia swears she could write poems about the sunlight on Yeji’s face, but she knows she wants to keep this to herself. With a bit of a shock she realises she wants the other all to herself.
Blushing again, Lia looked away, instead focusing on looking outside. She wondered if it was too soon to have already caught feelings, and she decided she was going to call an emergency meeting with her friends this evening.
