Chapter Text

Epilogue

"Timothy John Powers, being hooded by Dr. Hagan."

The crowd erupted in applause as Timmy walked across the stage on a Saturday afternoon in May. He was finally graduating with his PhD and as Timmy looked out in the crowd, his eyes caught his large group of friends, his parents, and his beautiful wife.

It had been three years since Tecna had crash landed into the lot by his former apartment and in his heart. It had also been three years since she had told him that she was going to stay, well, more like she had been banished to Earth but it was because she loved him more than she valued The Federation. Timmy knew how much Tecna valued The Federation, and for her to turn her back on it for him was more than he would ever expect. She chose him?

It had also been three years since he had been shot by a member of The Federation and miraculously lived. Timmy had learned that night that humans were able to withstand a higher voltage of electricity which the doctors had told him that his body reacted as if he had been tased by the world's strongest taser.

"What is your emergency?" the nurse at the emergency room desk asked as Timmy stumbled into the hospital with Helia and Tecna.

"Um, he was trying to fix the circuit breaker and he kind of electricuited himself." Helia answered as he did his best to hold Timmy up.

The nurse led Timmy, Tecna, and Helia to another room where Timmy was examined by one of the doctors. Showing an irregular heartbeat that sometimes stopped and stuttered, he was sent to a cardiologist.

"I am so sorry, Timmy." Tecna whispered as she grabbed Timmy's hand as he was being prepped for surgery.

"Hey, don't worry, Tecna. I will be okay. Besides, nothing makes my heart flutter like your kisses and touch. My heart has been messed up for a while, Tec."

As a result, Timmy was fitted with a pacemaker and he joked that he was like a grandfather. It didn't help that a year after that incident, he found out that Tecna was pregnant.

Timmy walked into the apartment after class and removed his coat, hanging it up and walked in to see Tecna sitting at the coffee table, working on her own homework. Tecna had enrolled in Magix University to get her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Anthropology after she breezed through getting her GED. Timmy thought that she would choose to study computer science but Tecna had declared that she already knew so much about computers and technology that instead, she wanted to know everything that she could about Earth.

"Hey, Tec," Timmy leaned down and pressed a kiss to Tecna's cheek, "how did classes go?"

"Fine," Tecna replied with a smile, her eyes not leaving her computer as she worked on a paper for class, "what about you?"

Timmy chuckled, "Just fine?"

Tecna just shrugged in response, "Just tired, I guess."

Timmy rose up and walked into the kitchen to grab a glass of water, "Well, you were up late working on your lady paper."

"You mean my paper for my Ethics in Feminism class?"

"Yeah...that." Timmy replied.

Timmy filled up the glass of water and brought it back into the living room. He took a seat down next to Tecna on the couch and leaned back. He took a sip of water as his body relaxed after his day.

Tecna turned to face Timmy, "We shall be having a child in the spring."

Timmy choked on his water and stared at his girlfriend who had just dropped some of the most important news of their lives as if she were telling him what she wanted for dinner.

"Excuse me?" He needed to make sure that he had heard that right.

"Our procreation has been successful."

Five months later Timmy and Tecna had moved into a quaint home and had a new baby daughter. He was curious to know what a human and alien baby would look like or act like but when his daughter Ada came into the world, all Timmy thought was that she was perfect. Tecna, however, was done with having children. Human babies were apparently bigger than the babies on Zenith and the babies on Zenith came faster than human babies which meant that Timmy had not gotten Tecna to the hospital on time and she had to deliver Ada naturally. Timmy could understand how Tecna would want to not have any more children, even he was scarred thinking back on Tecna's screams. Half a year after they had Ada, Timmy proposed to Tecna and the next fall, they were married in a small, intimate, and to please his mother, church wedding.

Now, as Timmy looked out at his friends, family, wife, and daughter, he couldn't help but think about how happy and loved he really was.

While he had a wife and a daughter now, three years ago he remembered talking on the phone with Nabu, wondering why any of his friends bothered with him. Timmy had to admit that in the beginning, he wondered why someone as amazing as Tecna could ever love someone like him. She was perfect and she had given him a perfect daughter. He didn't deserve it, he didn't think that he was worth it.

Timmy still found himself questioning how he had been so lucky to have amazing parents, a group of amazing friends, and a perfect little family of his own. Everything was amazing and everything was perfect.

Squatting down, Timmy felt the heavy hood come down on his neck and shoulders, followed by another round of applause. He stood back up and turned back around to the head of his department and the two men embraced each other.

"Congratulations, Timmy."

While Timmy knew that the old professor had been congratulating Timmy on his academic achievement, to Timmy, his words meant so much more than that. Looking out into the crowd once again, Timmy could feel his eyes start to water as they met bright cyan eyes. He had so much to celebrate.

Timmy walked off the stage and back into the line of his fellow cohorts to watch the rest of the ceremony.

"So...shall I call you Dr. Timster?" Riven clapped the back of Timmy's back, causing Timmy to choke on his champagne.

Timmy had been sitting down at Bloom and Sky's place where they agreed to host his graduation party. Ada had been sitting on his lap eating a small pile of diced apples and a slice of turkey lunch meat.

"Riven," Timmy groaned as he placed the glass of champagne down on the table next to him, "watch out for Ada."

Riven just chuckled as he bent down and took Ada in his arms, Ada wrapping her arms around her favorite "uncle", a fact that came as a surprise to everyone.

"I see her," Riven rolled his eyes, "you know I would never do anything to my second favorite girl."

Timmy looked over to a pregnant Musa who was holding a small toddler, "Might be third from what Flora has told me."

"Wait, does Flora know that Muse is having a girl?" Riven's eyes widened. Flora was currently in her final year of residency at Magix Hospital, doing some rounds at the clinic where Musa went for prenatal care. If anyone knew, it was Flora. "And Musa said that she wanted it to be a surprise."

"No," Timmy shook his head, "Flora doesn't know but she just has a hunch. She has been correct on the last five. She even predicted that Stella and Brandon would have twins."

Riven looked over to his girlfriend and daughter, "I suppose that Val could use a little sister. I can barely keep up with her."

"She takes after you."

"Thank goodness, right?" Riven remarked sarcastically.

"My mother keeps asking when you are going to propose to Musa, ya know. One child and it's a scandal," Timmy glanced at his daughter, "two children and it is an offence against God. And I doubt you two are stopping there."

"Hey," Riven narrowed his eyes, "tell your nun of a mother that Musa, Valerie, and I are very happy. Musa hasn't even brought up marriage. We're good."

"Daddy..." Ada reached down for Timmy.

Timmy held up his arms and Riven sighed as he gave Timmy back his daughter. If Riven was Ada's favorite "uncle", Ada was Riven's favorite "neice" and he hated to give her back to her father.

"I'll see you next weekend, my little mutant." Riven placed a hand on top of Ada's strawberry blonde head. Everyone in the friend group knew about Tecna's origin. He would have told his parents but his mother was well...his mother.

Riven continued, "Your mommy and daddy are going to take the chance to relax next weekend. But you'll get to hang out with me and aunt Musa and cousin Val."

"Yay, Val!" Ada clapped her hands together in excitement before returning her attention to the slice of turley on the orange paper plate.

"Really, Timmy," Riven gave Timmy a rare soft and genuine smile before he glanced down at Ada and stole a brief look towards Tecna who was by the dessert table with Stella, "we are all really proud of you."

"Thanks, Riven."

Riven walked away towards Musa and Timmy looked at the small family. He looked over towards Helia and Flora who was newly pregnant, Brandon and his children who were playing with Bloom's children, Sky and Bloom were talking with Timmy's parents, and Nabu and Aisha who were trying to feed their son. Finally, Timmy's eyes fell onto Stella and Tecna, his eyes focusing in on his beautiful wife as she talked, smiled, and ate a vanilla cupcake.

Timmy closed his eyes tightly, just as he did on the day he woke up to find Tecna in the bathtub, trying to make sure that this all wasn't a dream.

"Daddy, wake up."

Timmy opened his eyes and looked down at his daughter.

"I am awake." Timmy replied, "Wide awake."

He was awake and this all was real. Tecna crashing into the lot next door was real, her falling in love was real, their child was reeal, his happiness was real. He was no longer alone but surrounded by the people that he loved most in this world and who loved him.

"What is going on over here?" Tecna's voice sounded from behind him, causing Timmy to turn around.

"Just enjoying some father-daughter time together."

That concept, 'father-daughter time', even two years later felt so foreign to him. He never thought that he would ever put those two words next to each other when referring to himself.

Tecna leaned down and placed a kiss on Ada's head, "Well, mommy is joining this party."

Ada turned up to look at her mother, "Mommy, that is not correct."

Tecna smiled before looking over to Timmy, "Oh, well, I learned a long time ago not to concern myself too much about what is correct."

"Everything mommy does is correct," Timmy met Tecna's gaze before giving Tecna a soft smile, "and perfect."

Nothing about the last three years had been logical but Timmy meant what he had said. Ever since Tecna came crashing into his life everything had been perfect and correct.

Notes:

Well that is it. I wasn't quite sure how to end this but I rarely ever do. It was so much fun to write outside of my comfort zone. I appreciated all of you who went on this journey with me and who knows, I might have to revisit this story sometime...

Thank you all and I hope that you will continue to join me in my little writing journey!

Notes:

Eeee, I have been wanting to write this story for a while! I hope that like with any other story that you will go on this journey with me. This is my first long TecnaxTimmy story so definitely let me know what you think. In an effort to impose some discipline on myself, I am going to say that I will update every Friday (but I was excited to drop the first chapter lol). I am no longer in school and am working full time so if there is a week that I won't be able to update, I will definitely let you know. You can check for those announcements, other updates, polls, ramblings, and other shenanigans on my Instagram at starrynights513.

LET'S DO THIS!
