Chapter Text

"So, did you and Anne keep in touch?" Marcy dared to ask to the blonde, too concentrated on driving to look; "yeah we… fell apart after we broke up. Kinda called." She sighed, remembering all the good times she had with her now ex girlfriend and hoping that she wouldn't hate her anymore since she would spend the week with her for Marcy's return.

"You both never told me how you broke up."

"Well, it's personal and Anne didn't want me to tell you, I just stuck with it." She said stopping in front of the new place where the Thai girl worked, every nerve she had was yelling for her to pull the car and get the hell away, but it had been six years and now they were adults, right?

"Are we going to that bar we used to go to when we were kids?" Marcy asked Anne, sitting on the front seat near Sasha, who now noticed that the features on her tan skin only became nicer to look at; "well, if you want something to drink I don't think you'll get it." They all giggled: it was just like the good old times, when the three of them just played and goofed around, and when Sasha started to develop her feelings for Anne.

Nothing had changed since they were kids, they still joked around and Sasha still felt something for the Thai girl. But that would never work again; she knew very well she had never cheated, so much that she still wore the ring that Anne gave her that day.

Yeah, and that day.

It was all so fuzzy that sometimes she wondered if she didn't really cheat, but then she asked herself how could she, and she remembered that she didn't; but every time she tried to talk to Anne, very few, it was little words ending in nothing, it was all made up for the Thai girl. But she probably wouldn't believe a story like that herself.

"Hey where is Marcy?" Anne asked to Sasha, which was confused and yet amused on how that was one of the only things she told directly to her that day, but probably the shots they both had already helped; "I saw her making out with a girl outside the bathroom, but neither of them drank nothing, so I guess she just became a player in the time we weren't there." She joked, and noticed with happiness that the Thai girl finally laughed with her while drinking a beer. "I can't believe it. Remember when we were little and we asked her if she was into girls?" She giggled. "Yeah, she would always tell us no, and now there she is." Sasha said, continuing to drink her own beer.

"Yeah… time really does fly." Anne sighed, looked over at Sasha briefly while she was sure she wouldn't notice: she thought she had forgotten how she loved her, but it wasn't true, and it only hurt more as she remembered their tragic break up.

She couldn't not notice her hands: she always had been the type of girl that wore lots of rings, but one of them really looked familiar and Anne recognized it as the ring she gave her for their anniversary, AKA the day they broke up. But she could even be wrong, it had been years.

The shots, drinks and beers were already pretty kicked in, and for Sasha too since they all agreed that Marcy would drive (even though the blonde and the brunette both were afraid for their dear lives) so she was really fuzzy and actually out of her mind, and the talk with Sasha was really taking her back in time; she sighed.

'We're both adults now, right? So what do we care if it's only a night?' She thought; a kiss that night and then after it they would drift apart again, who cared? She missed those lips, but she still believed in the wrong Sasha had done, and a relationship again with her was unbearable.

Sasha was confused when Anne took her hand out of nowhere, and she dared to look at her in those black and stringed blue eyes of hers. "Want to… dance?" She asked in a kind of shaky voice reconductible to the alcohol; the blonde just nodded to her and got up, they fixed themselves a bit far from where they were sitting with other people that were dancing, and gazed into each other for an embarrassing minute.

Anne placed her hands on the hips of the girl, pulling her a bit closer but not really that much while Sashs wrapped her arms around her tan neck, the frustration of her being taller burned in her; "'this is so stupid. I don't dance a lot to slow music." Sasha giggled to Anne "who cares? We're not here to show off anyway." She said resting her head near Sasha's: they both missed this.

They danced to this slow dance for minutes, before Anne just took the blonde's left hand and looked close to it, sighing and now having a sad look.

"You are still wearing this." She said in a melancholic tone, as she remembered the beautiful and devastating memories, along with the bitterness and the young need to ask her to marry her; "yeah I… I

thought that it was nice." Sasha said too, looking at it and then at the other's lips.

Anne sighed once again.

"Why did you cheat, Sasha? I loved you, wasn't it enough? I want you to know that I couldn't offer you more than what I already was giving you." She asked in a bitter tone, as if she had a problem with pulling out that question. "Oh anne…" the blonde said, trying to take a hand to the other girl's cheek, almost forgetting all the years apart, but getting it taken away by the other girl hand's.  "Just tell me."

"I know it's pointless now, but please, let me at least explain. I know what you saw, but it was all made up, I swear I-" she started to say, but Anne placed a finger on her lips and looked her straight in the eyes. "I will listen to you, but not here." She said, walking out of the bar and for the moment not caring for Marcy and leaning her back to the wall with Sasha in front of her.

"Go on."

"That boy, Heran, was one of the boys that used to pick up on me, he made… I don't know, some stupid bet with his friends I guess about kissing me in front of you. And it worked." She said looking at the ground, she was an adult now, but the need to cry was still the one of a teenager in front of Anne; "I didn't even think about cheating on you, I loved you…" she said fidgeting with her rings, as she always did when she was in a stressed state.

"I… just, empathize with me for a second, okay?" Anne said, crossing her arms and trying to sound tough at the expense of the tears already formed in her eyes "this is a lot to believe and it does sound made up, and I was already pissed for that cigarette. I know one is not that much… but at the time, you just quitted smoking a big amount of it, I got scared." She said in a really shaky tone.

"I know it sounds made up… but why should I lie now? We're both adults now, and I don't find any good in lying at this point… I just wanted you to know that I didn't cheat and… I am sorry for how things turned out for us." Sasha said, finally allowing a few tears to fall down her cheeks.

Anne was also crying, but she still grabbed her hips and pulled her closer in a hug, a childish and sweet hug that Sasha hadn't felt anymore ever since she entered adulthood, because that world was just so dull and numb that a simple hug could wake her up; the blonde In a wave of courage, like the one in their first date, got closer to her lips with hers, looking firmly in her eyes: god, she was still taller than her, and it made her want to kiss her even worse.

Their lips united in a sweet kiss like no other, and they just remained there, hugging and kissing for minutes in silence, no rumor seemed to be around them even if the night in LA was pretty chaotic, it was just them: their perfect dynamic was remembered by both of them, Sasha always had freezing hands while Anne had them always warm for the other girl, one couldn't cook and the other was even too good, the only thing they had in common was the fact that they still loved each other.

"Marcy is probably wondering where we are." Sasha whispered against Anne's neck "well, let's just let her wonder for now?" She said back in a caring tone that the blonde really missed.

"Ugh, sorry, I really gotta find my friends and take them home, they'll be miles drunk by now." Marcy said with a giggle, pulling away from the kiss with the girl she had met that night. "Bye, call me when you get home." She said in a charming tone and getting out of the local: 'now, where have these two-' she thought, turning around just to see Anne and Sasha kiss in a corner; now, normally she would have just let them kiss because OH MY GOD, AGAIN but she really was tired and not to mention she had a deadline in a few days, no time was about to be wasted, so she just walked to them surprising both.

"I'm sorry to interrupt you gays, but I think you're both drunk." She said taking Sasha by the collet of her short and Anne by her wrist.

"Hey! Ur gay!" Sasha yelled

"No I'm not."

"We saw you."

"Ok maybe I am a little gay."
