Chapter Text
Words couldn't describe the reaction. It was something none of them have ever imagined, ever seen in fiction, even. When the initial shock wore off, they noticed a few others by their side. A slim, lengthy blonde fella with his eyes appearing to be closed. He was adorned in a wispy cloak, and a feather-like sword, amazing to work at all. Near his side was a shorter, blonde woman who looked fearful yet brave, like she's been through this before but dreads each occasion. She was guarding the most particular woman with a silver dagger. The particular woman had longer, dark hair. Her skin was darker and she posed herself very differently than the rest, she seemed incredibly childlike. The final two were children, one looked very distraught, like she had just had her world destroyed. Her hair strikingly green, and her wardrobe looks like a stereotypical witch. The other kid, he was very fiery, his red hair and fire dagger matching his demeanor. This little party of misfits had to be fictional, the mere idea of them looking like this and going about this seriously had to be a secret larp club. Yet, how would they explain the fairy? As well as the other fairy, who popped out of the little witch girl's hat. Compared to the blue spark by the swordsman, this one showed more feminine features, and was bright pink.
Before anyone could get any words out, Lupin dashed to a nearby secluded area, rich in flora. He signaled to the others, them getting the message and following suit. “Okay gang,” Lupin said in a hushed tone. “We have no idea where we are, or even what time period this is. It is best to stick together and to not be noticed, I’d rather not be cleaved in half by that massive hunk of metal.” The rest nodded in agreement. They all knew it was very dangerous, and the company up ahead could only trouble them further. The gang sat crouched down within the arrangement of bushes and trees, hoping to any god out there that they would survive this. They knew danger before, and have all had near death experiences, but this, whether fake or not, was much more grim. Quite a bit of time after observing later, Lupin's worst fear came true. Fujiko bellowed the most harsh blood curdling scream imaginable. “Fujiko!” Lupin and Goemon were quick to act, as Fujiko was being pulled away, legs first, by some disgusting furry looking creature with a club. A creature that looked completely different from the spirits the party of weapon wielders were combating. Without a warning, the creature was cut clean through the center, luckily missing Fujikos legs narrowly. Fujiko was shaken up, not being able to see clearly. The gang looked up from their shelter, seeing the large man, clad in detailed black armor and holding his massive sword. He was a sight to behold. Incredibly tall, short, black spiky hair with a little tuft of white. He had a metal false arm that looked like it could kill alone. The man seemed to act on instinct when slaughtering the creature, since when he came down from his high, he looked confused and alarmed by the gang's presence.
“What” was the only word he could manage to get out. Lupin could see why. Afterall, Lupin and the rest stood out like a sore thumb. From their hair to their clothes to their weaponry, you could tell they weren’t from there. The rest of the large man's party quickly approached, but the man stopped them before they could get a good glance at the others. “Stay back, I don’t know what to make of these people”
“Guts! If I could interject.” The small witch girl came to stand by the large man whose name seemed to be Guts. “Do you think this has something to do with the sudden astral plane interference?” Astral plane interference? Lupin had no clue what that meant and wondered what the rest of his group thought, he looked over to them and noticed Zenigata passed out, most likely when the creature was killed. Poor pops. “I am not too sure, these people look like humans, I assume from the east, but the technology and overall appearance seems so advanced, it has to be otherworldly.” The witch girl stated what everyone was most likely thinking. “State your purpose. Why were you stalking us and who are you all?” Guts demanded answers, being on edge with all that is going on in his life and just wanting to get to the point. “Well, it's a long story, haha.” Lupin knew he’d have to talk for his group, for them to not only survive this life or death encounter, but so they can survive in this strange, twisted world.
