Summary
A writer visiting Tokyo was plunged to the Borderlands together with the others. After the destruction of the Beach she needs to extend her visa and is now nervously waiting for the next game to begin.
~ * ~
I noticed a familiar silhouette leaning against the wall across the room. A short figure, whisks of ash colored hair sticking out from under the big hood hiding his face, but ironically making him easier to recognize. I sighed as memories from happier times at the Beach flashed through my mind, but was swiftly brought back to the present as the big overhead TV screen came to life, announcing the beginning of the game.

“It appears your brain does work,” he said flatly. “How nice. I was beginning to think it was simply filled with useless drivel and smiles.”
“The things I say aren’t useless.” You crossed your arms, slightly glaring at him.
“You just tried to apply aspects from a video game into real life,” he replied, shrugging. “Seems pretty useless to me.”
“It isn’t if that information is accurate,” you protested. “Nothing I said was false.”
He gave you an unimpressed stare.
“Fine.” you grit your teeth, giving him a spiteful look. “After this game, I’ll prove to you that I was right. Just so that I can shove that smug look right off of your face.”
That earned you yet another annoying smirk. “How, by shooting me?”

Or, where a video game obsessed Reader ends up in a screwed up parallel world where you're forced into death games. Life sucks, and then you meet Chishiya Shuntaro; a man with a shitty Walkman-taser and a pair of dead eyes.Life still sucks after that, but hey, at least you aren't alone anymore.
