My take on what would've transpired had the giganotosaurus did more than just scared Maisie after that ladder incident.
I'm a sucker for angst, so expect loads of it. Also, Mom Claire and Dad Owen deserved more scenes with Maisie in Dominion.
Side note: I changed a lot of interactions/conversations for the sake of this story - but the framework of the movie is still there :)

She feels his eyes on her before she prises them open to look over at him, he's stood in the doorway those soulful eyes fixed on her. Her body quivers under his gaze, she's acutely aware of the primal look he gives her. He's shirtless and barefoot but he'd obviously managed to dig up some sweats from somewhere, perhaps the housekeeping staff had located them some clothes to sleep in. All they'd had with them when they arrived were the ripped, dirty clothes on their backs. Nervously she sinks her teeth into her lower lip, her heart kicks up a notch as he begins to walk towards her.

She follows an impulse, leans down and kisses the scar, very softly, and Owen inhales, making a sound deep in his chest midway between embarrassment and pleasure. But he doesn’t pull away, so she wraps her arms around his waist and lays soft, deepening kisses along the exposed plain of his back until his breath has tightened in his chest, and he abruptly turns to kiss her so deeply she forgets all about his scars for a while.
