Before her necessary inquiry could spiral any further, there was a blink before Aether’s golden eyes centered on herself.
“Thank goodness! Paimon was beginning to grow worried—“
“You’re that fairy that follows the traveler and needlessly prattles on…”
“What did you just call Paimon?!” Then, a realization dawned on her. “Wait a second, that speech pattern… THE KNAVE?!”
Aether—no, Arlecchino glared at Paimon, making her shrink further into her seat from its intensity. “Of course,” she responded plainly, as though it were the most obvious thing in the world. “Who else… would it… be…”
As she continued speaking, it was clear that Arlecchino had noticed that her voice no longer sounded like her own. She, too, would come to a realization as she looked upon her own body, noticing that it, too, did not belong to her; instead, she was met with the view of a familiar body. Arlecchino continued to stare at herself for several moments before promptly standing up, asking Paimon only one question: “Who is most likely to solve or be responsible for this problem?”
