Summary
At 25, Derek is poised to achieve his dream of auditioning for a large ballet company, but there’s something missing in his life. Love. Who knew he’d find it at an illegal rave he wasn’t supposed to go to? When the cops break it up, Derek’s dance partner reflexively hits him in the groin and runs away, leaving Derek with a bruised dick and no way to find him. Life has more surprises in store for Derek though.

He swallows, keeping the word trapped behind his teeth because if it slips through he will not be able to catch it, he curls the chain around its neck and binds it to the tree out front to bark and bark with no one to hear. He just looks at Stiles, and Stiles looks back at him, and Derek thinks it loud enough that Stiles blinks.

Stiles was of the firm belief that he didn't have soulmate. Not even as a kid had he had unexplained damage to his skin, showing where his soulmate had hit themselves. Sometimes he felt as if he saw the ghost of a bruise, but it was always gone faster than he could take a picture to prove it. So yeah. Probably just his damned imagination.
