He screams but they don’t last long. Underwater, bubbles leak from his mouth. Kagome pities him but she wasn’t lying to him earlier. She does need him. Her body aches with it. Demands it.
She takes his face in her hands and kisses him, sucks the air from his lungs and destroys his desire for breath. She takes his soul in the first second and then plunges her clawed hands into his chest in the next.
She eats his heart and lives a little bit longer.
Legends are more than just stories men tell at night. Kagome is proof of this. Inuyasha is, too.
