Over the years, Jaskier gets a reputation amongst witchers as the guy who will get you out of bind if you need him to. He’s the witchers’ bard, after all. Need a hand with your injuries? A safe place to hide? A friendly face? Find Jaskier.
Jaskier, on the other hand, has no idea why witchers in trouble keep bumping into him on the road, but fate is funny that way, isn’t it? He’s certainly not going to turn them away

Summary
There was a flicker of movement at his side and he felt something slam into his unprotected flank. Magic blew past him, ruffling his hair but leaving him unharmed. Surprised by the sudden attack, Geralt stumbled and whirled to face whoever had hit him.
Only instead of a beast, he saw a bard.
Jaskier clutched at his chest where a dark stain seemed to spread over his heart. His bright eyes stared at Geralt helplessly, mouth opening and closing without sound. Geralt stared back at him in shock until Jaskier dropped heavily to his knees, collapsing like a puppet with his strings cut.
___________In the midst of a battle, Jaskier is hit with an unknown curse. All at once Geralt finds himself locked in battle with the only man he wants to protect.

“Rumour has it, the White Wolf himself arrived this morning,” Essi says. “By portal, or there would have been a whole procession. Anyway, there were two witchers at the Academy, and they were asking about you.”
“Me?”
Essi holds out a sheet of paper without a word.
It’s a bulletin board notice. Wanted Alive, it says. The Sandpiper. By order of the White Wolf, Warlord of the North. Below is an engraving of a wolf head, snarling and almost audibly growling.

Summary
There are very few True Bards left, ones that can reach into the echoes of the Spoken Words that brought the world into existence and weave the magic of Creation into everything they do. Jaskier is one of these bards. It takes… a considerably long time for everyone else to realize this.
Or, several times Jaskier’s companions didn’t notice his true nature, and one time they definitely did.

Summary
Geralt and Eskel fuck Jaskier within an inch of his life and do a lackluster job of taking care of him after. Sometime after they fall asleep, Jaskier finds himself falling to pieces in a place that doesn't quite feel like home.
