Prompting Week - May 17th / May 24th 2026
Just in time to celebrate the Walter Cup week and to First, we whet our appetite before the Stanley Cup Final.
Bring us your Server backlog, your shower-thought one-liners, your premises that have been haunting your Notes app since 1410. They all belong here. We are waiting for prompts like rookies are waiting for their consecration on the ice.

Claim and Fill - June 1st / Season 2 launch
Then, while the girls go on a well derserved holiday and the boys head back to the aquarium for the most important games of their season, we open the floodgates. Authors, artists, podficcers, moodboard-makers — pick a prompt (or six), claim it, fill it, post it. This runs all the way through to April 2027. Yes, ten months. We know. We are feral. We are committed. We are ready for new episodes to drop and start it all over again.

Help! I missed Prompting Week. Am I exiled?
Not even close.
For Server prompts: mods will sweep during the amnesty and either work with the original prompter or post the prompt as Anonymous.
For everyone else: the Prompt Fest stays open and unmoderated past the window. Prompt away whenever the muse comes calling.

My prompt is based on a Tumblr/Threads/Instagram/... post, can I submit it here?
Yes, as long as it’s your own riff and you credit the original (drop the link in the "Link" field). Don’t copy-paste someone else’s post and call it your prompt — that’s plagiarism cosplay, and we’d rather not. 

The signup form has so many fields. What’s actually mandatory?
We are in center line, with the possibility to put as little as information as possible with only 1 pairings, one tag, ... or go for the power play and max out the 20 pairings and tags. More info on this in the Request Instructions of the form.

Is there a limit on claims or fills per prompt?
Nope. Several creators can claim and fill the same prompt — no caps. The more, the merrier.

So I can claim anything?
Yes! Claim as many as you like. One favor: please don’t claim prompts you don’t actually plan to fill as it can deter other creators from picking them up. We trust you.
What types of fanworks count?
All of them: fanfiction, fanart, fanvids, gifs, moodboards, playlists, podfic — anything that fills a prompt and respects the prompter’s requests (especially their DNWs).

Which ratings are accepted?
All of them, G through E — as long as the work meets the prompter’s wishes and AO3’s Terms of Service.

Is there a word limit?
For fanfiction: 100-word minimum, no maximum. Yes, you can post a 100-word drabble. Yes, you can post a 100,000-word epic. Both are correct answers. WIPs and chaptered fics are welcome.

When should I post my fanwork?
As soon as it’s done. No waiting required — just post within the Claim & Fill window (June 1, 2026 – April 2027). After that, the collection stays open if you want to keep filling.

The legal-ish bits. None of these should be a surprise. We just want them in writing so future-us can point at them.

1. You need an AO3 account to participate. (See above. Yes, really.)
2. Every participant must be 18+ at the time of sign-up. We also ask that minors do not interact with this fest given the sensitive nature of its subject matter.
3. Prohibited content includes (but is not limited to): sexual content involving minors, RPF of the GCL / Game Changers cast, and content that sexualizes real-world abuse. This is non-negotiable.
4. Tag like the next reader is your most sensitive friend. All applicable Archive Warnings must be checked, and additional content tags are strongly encouraged.
5. Respect DNWs. When filling a prompt, you must respect the prompter's listed Do Not Wants. If you can't work within them, pick a different prompt, there are plenty.
6. Fanfiction: 100-word minimum, no maximum. WIPs and chaptered fics are allowed and encouraged.
7. Any ship, no ship. Any Game Changers Universe ship (mono or poly), or no ship at all. All welcome.
8. Previously-posted GCL prompt fics are accepted as valid submissions. And can be added directly to the GCL Collection.
9. Be kind. Hate or disrespect toward GCL members, fest mods, or fest participants will not be tolerated. We're here to host a good time.
10. No plagiarism, no AI-generated work. Both are strictly forbidden — for fic and for art. We see you. We will know.
11. 50-prompt cap, no claim/fill cap. Each user can submit up to 50 prompts (the AO3 maximum). There's no limit on how many prompts one user can claim and fill. Go forth.
