FAQ:

What is a prompt challenge?
A prompt challenge is where:

Anyone can submit a prompt for whatever they want to see in a fic/fanwork.

Anyone who is interested in a prompt can choose to fill it and create a fic/fanwork based off of the prompt.

In the prompt challenge, you can submit as many prompts as you want. You can also fill as many prompts as you want, though filling prompts isn't required. It's fine to just keep writing prompts/ideas that you want to see written/drawn of GSGW/GCDG!

What is allowed?
In this collection, any prompt/content related to GSGW is allowed.

Do I have to claim prompts in order to submit them OR submit prompts in order to claim them?
No. You can choose to solely submit prompts or solely create content or do both. Participation for every aspect of the challenge is on a voluntary basis, though I both hope and highly encourage you to give it a try.

How many prompts can I submit?
You can submit as many as you want! - is what I want to say, but Ao3 only allows 50 prompt submissions per account.

If you are really desperate to submit more prompts however, then theoretically you can:

Ask others to submit prompts for you
Make another Ao3 account
Make a Google Doc with all your prompts and share the link on a prompt.

How do I submit a prompt?
To submit a prompt, first login to your Ao3 account.

Then, click on the Prompt Form link in the menu.
Once you fill out the form and submit your prompt, you are done!

Congratulations on submitting a prompt!

How do I claim a prompt?
If you have an Ao3 account, you can click the “Claim” button next to any prompt you would like to claim. You can do this for as many prompts as you wish to fulfill.

Multiple people can choose to claim and fulfill the same prompt so don't be afraid to write/make something for a prompt that has already been claimed.

As they say, more cakes, more flavors! And we all love eating!

How do I unclaim a prompt?
Click on your account and you should see ”My Claims”. Click on that and you will find the prompts you have claimed, as well as options to fulfill or drop them. Click the ”Drop” button in order to unclaim!

How do I fill a prompt?

Method 1:

You can fulfill a claimed prompt by selecting the “Fulfill” button beside the one you wish to complete.

This opens the Post New Work form with the collection selected and with the prompt added to the beginning Notes section. (Prompt tags are optional; they won't be added in and you don't have to add them either.)

Method 2:

Go to the Post New Work form.

In the Associations section, select the checkbox for the open claim you are completing.

When you post or preview the work, the details of the Prompt Meme Challenge and prompter will be automatically filled in for you.

The work will be added to the Prompt Meme's collection; however, the content of the prompt itself won't be automatically added to the beginning Notes section.

Can other people see what I prompt?
Yes, but there is also an option to choose to prompt anonymously if you wish on the Prompt Form.

How many prompts can I claim?
There is no limit to how many prompts you can claim. There is also no pressure to actually fill them :) Just do what you need to do and what you want to do, regardless if it's actually going to get posted.

Can other people see what I claim?
Yes, claims are visible to everyone on the prompts page. Fills that are posted to the collection will also have revealed/un-anonymous creators.

If you do want to fill a prompt with an anonymous work, you can still add your work to an anonymous collection to post anonymously though. It is up to you whether you want to be anonymous or not.

Do I have to have an AO3 account to prompt and claim?
Yes.

Someone already claimed the prompt that I want to claim. What should I do?
Claim it too! There is no limit to how many people can claim the same prompt. As said earlier, more cakes, more flavors! :)

I want to write a prompt that might include major spoilers. How do I hide the information?
If you think something might be potentially too disturbing or has spoilers past the current English translated chapters, please use this guide or any other HTML code you know of to hide it.

Help! I want to edit or add more prompts to what I already submitted. How do I edit and/or add more?
You can click on 'My Prompts' and then the 'Edit Sign-up' button next to the Sign-up for [Ao3 Username] to edit your previous prompts or add more prompts. If you just want to add more prompts, you can also just click on the 'Add Prompt' button.

Can I submit a crossover prompt/claim a prompt with the intention of writing it as a crossover?
Yes! As long as the work is related to Got Dropped into a Ghost Story, Still Gotta work, and has the fandom tag, crossovers and the like are more than welcome :)

Leave a kudos, a kind comment, and don't leave comments asking for the next update (unless the author has specifically mentioned they don't mind that). While many fanfic writers are doing it for themselves, no one dislikes support and feedback :)

Above all, be kind and mindful! If you see fanfiction or prompts that contain things that may disturb or disgust you, please avoid leaving rude comments. We are all people with brains– follow the powerful act of “Don't Like, Don't Read”. Block and mute if you must!
