No one prepared him for this, damn it! How was he to know when he left to commiserate with his new internet pal that he was actually about to spend the entire afternoon getting piped by the mayonnaise-guzzling, chain-smoking, seppuku-ordering object of his desires? The very same one he’s been lusting and longing after for so long he’s forgotten when it started.
And, sure, was some of it confusing and emotionally exhausting? Absolutely, yes. It was horrible. But that didn’t matter. What matters is not only did he get his ass eaten like he was hiding Michelin stars up his colon, but that Hijikata—no, Toushirou—wanted 'This'. 'This', being the emotionally-stunted proxy for ‘being intimately involved with one another.’ Which means they’re a Thing™ now. He doesn’t know what that Thing™ is, and he has no particular desire to put a more specific label on it just yet, but he’s pretty sure it means more screwing. And if the promise of continued screwing with your hot, long-time frenemy isn’t something to celebrate, Gintoki doesn’t know what is.
