Feral part two: Danny is arrested peacefully while walking, hung over, on the beach, while Steve is surfing. Danny refuses to say anything, and affects the demeanor of a traumatized person. Chin recognizes Danny is infected, and Joe White orders Danny taken to an army base. A female officer takes pity on him, and offers food and coffee in the van he's being transported in. Steve rescues him, and the two escape.

Feral part three: Danny has been infected with the virus, but refuses to allow Steve to add to his viral load. Danny is furious he will never be allowed near Grace, or be able to touch her again, he realizes he chose Steve over his daughter when Steve was first infected, and gives in.

Part four of Feral series: Danny rescues Steve from Joe White and Steve's sister Mary. On the plane headed to D.C., the autopilot is set to crash into the sea. Danny and Steve parachute out, eventually reclaiming Joan from CPS.
