Welcome to HQ Flash Exchange: Long Distance May! This is the time to explore all the yearning (and time zone shenanenigans) that this theme entails! It can be a newly established aspect of their relationship, or, after years of playing volleyball outside of Japan, the characters can be pros at it! Phone and/or video call fun times are very much engouraged. Just make sure their connection is stable thoughout.

Intro:

A 'flash exchange' is an exchange in which there is a short time period for sign ups, creation, and creator reveals, usually 48-72 hours. Word counts and art minimum and maximums are low to accomodate this.

This is a centralized account to run monthly flash exchanges for various themes, characters or ships.

What are the requirements to participate?

Participants must have an AO3 account and meet the age requirements set by the exchanges mods (it may change by month)! There's no application, no experience requirement, no minimum follower count.

What content is allowed?

This will depend on the monthly theme and the wishes of the flash exchange mods. We are overall a group comfortable with dark/problematic material, but it may not be appropriate for each exchange. See the monthly exchange page for more details about what is and is not allowed in a given month.

What are treats?

Treats are extra fanworks created for a participant in the exchange, outside of your assignment, or works created for participants by people outside of the exchange.

From the 'Request Summary' page of the AO3 collection, you can view all the requests and prompts by the exchange participants. To write a treat, simply follow the word count min/max guidelines, respect the recipients 'do not wants', and post it as a gift to the collection! If you have a question about how to post a treat, please DM the account or a mod.

How do I sign up?

Sign ups will be through AO3 on the dates indicated on the monthly exchange page of our Carrd!

Rules:

Which characters will be allowed?
Any and all characters will be allowed!

What ships will be allowed?
Any and all platonic and romantic pairings will be allowed!
Additionally, if you'd like to offer or request a work that has *no* ship, i.e. a character study, that's also perfectly acceptable! We'll be running tag nominations this month — look for more info closer to the scheduled date.

What content will be allowed?
All content — including NSFW and problematic/dark content — will be allowed this month! As such, this month's exchange will be 18+ only. All dark content **must** be properly tagged.
