Summary
John Watson had always assumed that he would never play a major role in Moriarty's game. After all, Moriarty was always too concerned with Mycroft and Sherlock Holmes to pay an invalided army doctor any mind. So he is taken by surprise when Moriarty makes a rather shocking demand: one month with John Watson in exchange for Britain's tactical positions and plans in Afghanistan. John has now become a pawn - to be used as both Moriarty and Mycroft please. But what everyone tends to forget is that a pawn also has its own power and should not be taken lightly.

"Bloody hell, Watson," Moran rasps. "What are you doing here?"
"Strangely enough, that was what I wanted to ask you too," John replies wryly, stretching his left arm out cautiously and taking a closer look at the other man. "Punctured lung?"
Kidnapped during a case, John rescues himself and comes across an injured Sebastian Moran. Afterwards, Jim Moriarty changes his mind and decides that one John Watson isn't as boring as he first seemed.

Because as he raised his eyes to gaze at the shops across the street, he saw a face that he honestly didn’t expect to see again outside of a creepy evil secret warehouse or local swimming pool. At that moment, he looked up from his disappointing coffee and he saw him, London’s favourite consulting criminal: Jim Moriarty.
