I don’t understand, thought Viktor as he gazed at Jayce’s completely open face. How could you feel that way? After everything I've done?

Summary
He’s familiar with the space Viktor takes up, standing next to him by the blackboard or sitting down at the tables. He knows how Viktor will shuffle underneath Jayce’s arm to correct a mistake in his maths, or rewrite a messy theory while Jayce prattles on about the next steps. He knows the surprising sturdiness of Viktor’s cane, as it smacks at his ankles when Jayce doesn’t make room fast enough.
Viktor is no stranger to Jayce.

He didn’t know how Happy’s brain filled in the gaps or explained why there were teenaged boy clothes mixed in with May’s belongings, but it probably was easy for him to brush past it in his haze of grief. But Peter Parker was gone from photos, from yearbooks, identifying papers and documents disappeared.
