The horrendous circumstances of his birth, up until what would inevitably be his death, was a testament to this. Yet, despite everything, there was one person who could make him forget it all. With a fleeting touch – the slightest brush of cool hands against skin – the storms raging within his chest would be silenced, and replaced with an unfamiliar, more human sensation.
But Dazai wasn't here anymore. And there would be no more pretending.
