Eddie cast around for topics that might get Richie going—weird movie concepts, gross food combinations, Odd Future, how much all the TV Eddie liked apparently sucked—but nothing seemed like it would be enough to fix whatever this was. Eddie took a deep breath as subtly as he could. “Do you, like, hate it here?”
Richie made a laugh-adjacent noise. “Uh, yeah. What tipped you off?” he said immediately. But then he looked at Eddie out of the corner of his eye. “Do you?” he asked, sounding less sure.
“So fucking much,” Eddie said.
