Intro:
In the story of the Phoenix, a creature is born, it grows into its power, then it all goes up in flames, but out of the ashes, a new phoenix is born. When a flower blooms, it eventually withers and returns to the dirt where new flowers grow from. Everywhere we look, there is this cycle around us.
The theme of this fest is Life Cycles, each prompt can be taken literally or figuratively. It’s my hope that each writer will engage with the concept of each prompt and interpret them differently. The prompts are divided into five categories: Birth, Life, Death, Beyond, and Resurrection. You can use these as literal denotations of where in life the characters are or just as inspiration for how you interpret the prompt’s concept.
If you want further inspiration, I was listening to Florence + The Machine while I was writing these prompts. More specifically:

Rules:
1. Must be a member of the Dragon Heartstring Discord server
2. One claim per person, one person per prompt
3. No pedophilia or underage sex (As per AO3’s guidelines, this includes any character under the age of 18, and pedophilia is defined as a slash pairing between an underage and overage character)
4. No beastiality, rape/SA, or incest
5. Works must be a minimum of 500 words up to a maximum of 2000 words
6. AUs are allowed
7. This is an anonymous fest, please do not share your work before reveals
8. The use of an alpha/beta is allowed, they must not be participating in this fest
9. Use of generative AI (ie ChatGPT) in any capacity is prohibited
10. All generations are welcome, but for this fest intergenerational slash pairings are not allowed
11. All works must be appropriately tagged, “Choose Not to Use Archive Warnings” is prohibited and your work will not be accepted to the collection
