Lu Guang inhales, but doesn’t answer for a while. His fingers twitch a little, as if he means to pull them away at the question, but when Cheng Xiaoshi gives his hand another squeeze, he resettles.
“I’m happy you’re alive, Cheng Xiaoshi,” Lu Guang finally says, in that voice that Cheng Xiaoshi has only heard a few times and only when it’s just them two.
