MAIN REMIX EVENT

What is a remix?
A remix is a fanwork inspired by another fanwork. Examples of remixes include (but aren’t limited to!): prequels, sequels, alternate POVs, side stories, alternate universes, illustrations, and fanfiction of artwork.

How does this remix event work?
Everyone who signs up will be asked to provide 3 - 5 works they have created which they are interested in having remixed. After sign ups close, they will then be assigned a remixee, and will pick from their remixee’s 3 - 5 works in order to create a remix.

What are the event requirements?

1. All mediums are welcome, as long as they can be shared digitally. Examples of mediums that you use for the event include: writing, drawing digitally, drawing traditionally and scanning or photographing your work, gifsets, moodboards, playlists, cosplay photos, etc.
2. All fanfiction remixes must be at least 1,000 words long.
3. Art remixes must be polished to a degree where it’s evident they are completed and not WIPs.
4. All playlists must be at least 10 songs long and include cover art.
5. All moodboards must be at least nine tiles in size, and you must create two per remix.
6. If making gifs, you must make at least 5 per remix.
7. There are no maximum requirements for any medium - you can write 200,000 words or create 20 pieces of art if you want to.

Shipping policy:
Remixers can include ANY platonic ships in their remixes. However, you can’t alter or add any romantic ships unless your remixee is open to that. You can state if you are comfortable with different/additional romantic ships on your sign-up form.

Tone and rating:
You will not be asked to read anything with a rating you’re not comfortable with for this event, either by your remixer or your remixee. However, remixers are allowed to create a remix with a different tone from the original work, such as a fluff fic in response to an angst fic, or vice versa.

Other guidelines:

- You may NOT post any wips of your remixes before the deadline. This is to give your remixee a nice surprise on posting day when they see that it’s you!
- You can’t submit crossovers as part of your 3 - 5 works, as your remixer may not be familiar with the fandom you used for the crossover.
- You can’t include more than one work in your 3 - 5 works which includes extreme sensitive content, such as the major AO3 archive warnings (excluding MCD for canon deaths), non-con, etc. Matches may not be perfect and we want to make sure your remixer has something they feel comfortable remixing.
- Unfinished works may be included in your 3 - 5 works, as long as they are long enough for your remixer to have adequate material to work with.
- Your works offered for remix must be at least 500 words. If including a multichapter work or work over 50,000 words in your 3 - 5 works, you must indicate which chapter/part you are most interested in having remixed. Your remixer may not have time to read the entire work.

REMIX MASTERLIST

Remixers:

If you don’t feel comfortable signing up for the main event, you can still participate! We will be curating a list of works that are available to be remixed for the duration of the event. Additionally, if you have signed up but you want to create more remixes, you can remix works from this masterlist AFTER you finish your assigned remix.

Remixees:

If you would like people aside from your remixer to have access to your works to remix through this event, you can submit your portfolio through the sign-up form, and it will be added to the masterlist of works available to be remixed.

If you chose to do this, you CAN specify one or more works that you do not want remixed. You are not guaranteed any additional remixes through the remix masterlist - the masterlist is simply available for participants who want to remix more works, or people who didn’t officially sign up through the event to participate.
