mechs album week is an event running from march 11-17, 2021, to focus on the albums rather than the band members.

each day has a prompt for people to create fancontent based on:

day one (march 11): once upon a time (in space)

day two (march 12): ulysses dies at dawn

day three (march 13): high noon over camelot

day four (march 14): the bifrost incident

day five (march 15): tales to be told (volumes 1 & 2, frankenstein)

day six (march 16): fiction

day seven (march 17): free day

-content must be focused on album characters and/or settings. to specify, it’s not against the rules to include the crew of the aurora, but they cannot be the center focus. as an example, a fic about brian and arthur’s early friendship would be allowed, but not a fic about brian slowly rusting in camelot, even if he has a conversation with a hnoc character. ‘mechanized [x]’ aus are allowed as well, because they’re putting a spotlight on an album character that likely wouldn’t get that sort of attention normally. in a similar vein, content cannot be centered on lyfrassir edda.

-no tma/mechanisms crossovers. i am aware of and have read some good ones, but in an event where we’re already trying to take the focus off of the slightly more popular crew of the aurora, it feels counterproductive to then introduce the far more popular podcast the magnus archives.

-do not post content romanticizing pedophilia, incest, etc. it will not be reblogged here and it will be removed from the ao3 collection. the creator of any such work will also be contacted and potentially banned from the event. this is not a space for pro-shippers. in addition, this shouldn’t apply to too much because this is an event centered on the albums, but anything representing the character of dr carmilla as pure evil is not necessarily exempt from the event, but will be vetted before being allowed to be reblogged here or added to the ao3 collection.
