Then she ducks into a tavern in a half-finished monster city during a rainstorm, looks at a pot of gray, defeated stew, and says do you have ginger — and accidentally becomes the emotional infrastructure of an entire nation. She doesn't mean to feed a city's worth of homesick monsters into something resembling family. She definitely doesn't mean to stay. Tempest, as it turns out, has opinions about that.
