Monstrous May Challenge 2021
This May, from the 1st to the 31st, it's time for the #MonstrousMayChallenge 2021!
There's a monster-themed prompt for every day of the month, and you're invited to make art, write fiction, make joke posts, graphics, manips, podfic, essays, meta, and anything else you can think of!
The Monstrous May Challenge was created with original creations in mind, but fan creators are more than welcome to participate, and we'd absolutely love to see your contribution! Just make sure when posting to add your works posted here on Ao3 to this collection, and to employ the #MonstorusMayChallenge hashtag on Twitter or Instagram, and the MonstrousMayChallenge tags on Tumblr if you're sharing there!

Summary
"It's a shame that your voice is so high-pitched," he says, plucking the cigar cutter and sickle from the tool strip. "It's kind of shrill, you know? I usually enjoy when my sacrifices beg for their life. It raises energy faster."

Summary
The Collector is a monster hunter, with one of the largest known private exhibits of preserved monsters and monster parts. Yet, nothing they can collect seems to quiet their own fear, that they are no more human than the things in their collection. Maybe one more big find, something truly monstrous, will satisfy them.
The Toymaker is not human, it knows that. But it is an upstanding member of its town, no matter what anyone has to say about its appearance, or that of its dolls. It knows it could never be a monster though, not when monsters are cold, hungry, unfeeling things, and it is overflowing with love for its creations.
These are their stories, how they conflict and intertwine. Rating and tags may change!
