“You- you didn’t want to know?” Taeyong repeated faintly.
“I’m going to be honest and say that I wish you’d kept this to yourself.” Jaehyun groaned, shutting his eyes once more and rubbing at his temple with one hand, perfectly composed once more. As though he had not just shattered Taeyong’s world with a single sentence.
But Taeyong wasn’t listening. Not anymore.
The mere thought of being a second longer in the alpha’s presence when he was so clearly upset made his omega whimper, and so gathering the little strength he had left, he cleared his throat. He picked up the box with trembling fingers, refusing to meet Jaehyun’s eyes.
“You’ve made your feelings about the situation very clear. I’m very sorry for having-” the words wouldn’t come out. “For having bothered you with this.” Taeyong choked. What more was there to say? Jaehyun clearly had no interest in taking responsibility for the situation the omega now found himself in, for their child, and the realization of that was like a bucket of ice water had been dumped upon his lithe frame.
Jaehyun took a deep breath, the alpha’s scent still bitter and angry. “The damage is done Taeyong.”
The damage was done indeed.
