Summary
Riku had never missed one of Sora's birthdays and that was absolute fact. He kind of intended to change that tradition with this one, though. Sora had dozens of other friends. He was popular, captain of the soccer team, everything Riku wasn't and would never be. Why should he go to his childhood friend's stupid birthday party when they've barely talked in three years?
He might have actually skipped it if Sora hadn't actually invited him, but, well - even if they weren't friends anymore, it was hard to deny Sora anything.

Summary
It’s a victory lap. That’s all it is.

Summary
Sora's home, everyone said. Sora's come back!
Sora wasn't sure, though, if all of him came back. Riku wasn't either, teetering on the fine edge of too much, too little, and nothing ever being said — all of it overwhelming like static scraping against his skin.
Sometimes, just to make it all go quiet, Riku would reach to touch Sora. Just to remind himself this was real, this was true, and that the past wasn't just nightmares.

Summary
It could be that he's just dreaming, but Sora knows better. These aren't dreams - these are other worlds he's visiting night after night. He's seeing different versions of his life, of himself, and of Riku, who is always there by his side.
Sora isn't so oblivious that he can't notice hundreds of universes conspiring to tell him something important about Riku. He just wishes his Riku was with him.
