Opposite Day: PHM Event

To keep morale up, the PHMBB discord is hosting a type of mini-Reverse Bang! This will operate purely through the PHMBB discord and Google Forms. All work here will be kept SFW!

Why is this event labelled the Opposite Day Mini-Bang? This is because our writers came up with a neat idea of an event where writers draw and artists write! If you are usually a writer, you will be participating as an artist, and if you are usually an artist, you will be participating as a writer. If you participate in both roles, you can select either one and choose a medium you are not familiar with.

If an artist/writer is good at both they would then pick a medium they’re not practiced in to create (i.e. artist would write a poem fic if they’re good at dialogue, writers would use crayons if they’re good at graphite). We want to get people out of their comfort zones and help each other appreciate other mediums. From here forward, artists will refer to writers participating as artists and writers will refer to artists participating as writers.

Rules:

Artists will create an artwork in a medium they’re not familiar with and submit it to the mods for them to create the document the writers will pick from.

After we receive the artist's sketches, we’ll present them to the prospective writers and they will choose an image to make a ficlet (less than 1k words but more than 500 words) based on the artwork! It will go first come first serve, we’ll try to give you your first pick but that may not be feasible.

-Artist draws a 750x750px to 1000x1000 minimum(ish) sketch or equivalent for traditional art works, gif set containing 4 gifs, or a graphic. Minimal color and shading is permitted, but for the spirit of the event anything more than that is to be posted after the event.

-Writers will pick an artwork to make a 500-1k word fic about based on the artwork they’ve picked. The writer does not have to follow the artwork to the letter but they should follow the general vibe and spirit of it. After they submit their application with what they are good at, mods will give them a list of options for what they should/can do for their medium.
